If this is the same cash today limited as I think it is, they are so illegal. what you need to do is first close your bank account (please read sticky about closing bank accounts) you may not be legally able to do this , especially since you do have storefronts. Please file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, BBB, and the FTC regarding this company. also send the company a cease and desist letter along with a separate letter revoking wage assignment, give a copy of the wage assignment to your HR person and briefly explain why you are giving them this notice. If I have missed anything or am incorrect someone please let me know..Thanks

Cashtoday is quite simply one of the worst offshores out there. They are so dirty they smell! I would start working today to get out of this loan and sit down and total up what you have actually paid them vs how much your actual PDL with them was for.
You need to put a block on your account denying any further debits from them ASAP if you can't close it. Their MO is to call you 24-7, and since they are based in London, they will do this, I guarantee it. They will call non-stop at work and at home.
I would tell your boss that this could be coming ASAP (this will take the threat of them holding the fact that they could call your boss away from them) and threaten them with a police report for harassment.
They will also tell you that you owe some outrageous amount (like $1000 for a $200 PDL!!), but don't fall for it!

cameron, have you filed your complaints w/ the ftc, bbb as of yet..if not, get to those TODAY

Make sure these are on 2 different pieces of paper, and on the complaints to bbb and ftc, these can be done online on their websites.

after doing research on internet payday loan laws in the state of Maryland, I (name removed for your safety. cannr) have found that your internet payday loans are actually illegal. I have also found the following laws to be true applying to payday loans in the state of Maryland

After finding out that your internet payday loans are illegal; your company should actually not issue loans to Maryland residents at all.

I have contacted the Maryland Office of Financial Institutions and the Maryland State Attorney General????????s Office regarding your internet payday loans and was informed they are indeed illegal in Maryland and was advised to pay what is due according to principle amount only of the loan.

I have currently paid $375.00 on my $200.00 loan. The legal amount that could have been charged to my loan is the principal amount of $200.00 even if your internet pay day loan was legal in Maryland. I have paid $375.00 on this loan by your debits of my bank account and only owe $200.00 to have this paid in full. I have fulfilled in remittance of the principal amount of the loan. I demand that you mark my account Paid in Full as I have fulfilled in remittance of the principal amount of the loan and send me a refund of $175.00

I demand that any contact be made through US Postal mail or email only. I will need everything in writing to keep accurate records of all communication as per instruction from my state Attorney General's Office.

I prohibit you or your affiliates to contact me via telephone at my place of employment or my home telephone number. I also prohibit you from calling my references listed on my loan. Once I inform you of this, you must stop the telephone contact immediately or you will be once again breaking the laws of the state of Maryland.

You are also hereby notified that I am revoking any voluntary wage assignment I may or may not have signed. I no longer authorize you, your company, or your affiliates to attach any part of my wages or contact my employer for your collection purposes.

I am revoking your right to debit my checking account any longer. You, your company, or your affiliates are not authorized to debit my checking account at all. Please be aware that I have informed my financial institution of this situation and they will also be receiving a copy of this correspondence. Any further attempts at debiting my account will be rejected by my financial institution.

I must also inform you that I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and my state Attorney General's Office.

I expect a response from your company no later than 11/21/2007, regarding this matter. This response may only come via US Postal mail or email. No telephone contact is permitted.
