Shawntee, I've heard of CAs rejecting your offer, but not rejecting payment. They're very good at manipulating and saying in essence 'well if you don't pay what we propose we're going to consider you non compliant' in so many words. my uncle is going through this now, but I haven't heard of them not taking money as it would be better to take something rather than nothing. can you elaborate on your situation a bit more? what company you're dealing with?

A collector can legally reject any payment they desire and still be in compliance with the law. If they do reject payment it would look bad on them if they took you to court for the debt.
