I've been contacting a few different debt management places to see what each one would offer me--their costs, fees, what I will be paying, and for how long. This one place I checked with--Capital Law Group--now is calling as much as the debt collectors!!! This is the first place I had talked with about consolidating my debt. They wanted my banking info before even sending me a thing in writing. I told them that I was not comfortable in giving out my banking info without getting anything in writing first, and the gal I talked with (Jamie) sounded kind of irritated. I told her I would get back with them, that I wanted to think about things for a bit. Now their calling up to 4-5 times a day. On my caller-id it shows up as Massachusets 978-681-1506. The gal there told me that they were out of Maryland, but 978 is the area code for Massachusets. Anyone know anything about this place? The other places I talked to about debt management never asked for my bank info at all, they just said that they would send a packet of info and a contract to sign if I decided to go with their services, and they haven't called!! This place just sounds fishy to me.

if they are trying to pressure you into signing up with them, then that should be a definite warning sign to steer clear! don't let any company high pressure you into signing up with them. it shows they are not looking out for your best interests...just what commissions they will make with having you sign up.

Oh heavens yes, please stay clear of them. When I entered into consolidation both my counselor and I had a written agreement that he faxed to me AND emailed to me so that I can sign. I couldn't even begin that program until all paperwork was in place and they didn't ask for my banking information until all of that was complete. Then I sent them certified if i remember right a voided check in my information packet that I had to send back to them.
I'm sure you're more than irritated at this point and decided if they're going to be more than a pest then you're prolly not going to deal with them anyway. good for you for researching the companies too!! very important good luck finding one that doesn't bug you to death
