I had a credit card with bank of america. My bill got up to $4500. I could not afford to make my payments because my interest rates was so high.so i stop making my payments.Bank of America sold my $4500 debt to another company. This is the first letter that i have gotten from this company an it is a civil summons stating that i owe $5800 now. The last payment that i made to bank of amercia was on 1-03-06

Hi, welcome to the forums. What you must do first, and do this right away, is answer the summons. You will get a response from the court with a court date. Make sure you go!! You will get an opportunity to make arrangements with your creditor at the hearing. If you don't show up, they will garnish your wages!
