Tanya, you paid the loan off? Do you have it in writing. If so, fax it to them. They should not be able to debit from you new account unless you gave them the information. I have seen several members post that they use this tactic to scare them.

Tanya, there has been some discussion on whether this can be done. We have had members post that their new accounts have been hit however, this has been more the exception thank the rule. I am going to copy your post and post it in the banking fourm I am going to ask the members and the moderators on the banking fourm to add their thoughts and experience. Let's see what we get from them.

thank you so much roxie, thing is i dont even remember borrowing from them, this must be back in 2001-2003 some where, they email me but yet it says i owe them but has no account number amount i owe, i changed banks banks so the bank i used back then is not the bank i use now.

Correct me if I am wrong but can't they only get this information from other pdl co's if you apply for one?

I talked to my local legal aide department who assured me that they cannot do this as they would need your routing and account number and that this would be illegal. If you notice anything on your account that you did not authorize you need to disupte this right away.

Am anxious to hear about what other's have to say about this issue also.
