I'm nervous about using any of the debt solutions companies. i can't afford to ruin my credit. i want to lower/eliminate my debt and buy a new home, so ruining my credit isn't an option. not sure what else i can do to help if anything.

If you are in a position to keep paying on your cards in a timely manner, just buckle down and pay extra where you can. If your goal is to buy a home, your credit is good now and you are in a position to pay the cards, I would say do it on your own.
