#1 My girlfriend assaulted me and I ended our relationship through legal means and there is currently an arrest warrant keeping her out of state.

#2 We had a car loan that she took with her and a loan I co-signed

#3 She stopped paying (even though I was paying child support) since she got a brand new car and the car was repo and there was a 7K differential

#4 She had a bad habit of flying into a rage in public whenever I said no to anything...two months before the car loan she was thrown in jail for beating me up in church

#5 when we took out the car loan I had her, her mother AND the car salesman/dude writing the loan screaming at me to sign it...

#6...ending my relationship with the woman was quite financially devistating and I dont have the money but I have the bill collectors chasing me because they think I have the money and they are leaving her alone...

#7 I end up getting sued...I got any chance of getting off?

I never actually received the notice of sale...I've offered to settle for 2K and in one conversation the collectors agreed then reniged on it and are now asking 4100...its a tough situation any words of advice

She's not going to pay anything...I get the lawyer contacting her, it only brings back the drama.

I know that I am liable

my question is in the event that it goes to court, will the judge take this situation into account...my defense would be that I signed under duress including duress from the lenders agent...

My income is public info and there appears to be enough income that they are chasing me, but they can't garnish wages in north carolina...

You have to send the collectors a cease and desist letter to keep them from calling you and refer them to your attorney. Allow him to handle the situation. It is better to pay your attorney then their attorney which is what will happen if you don't have one. They will take you to court and you will have to pay legal fees on top of the amount.

ladybug...it was not an easy situation just to say no...men don't get the same consideration as women in domestic violance situations...she flew into a rage the month before because I wanted to go to church...when I got to church she didn;t like it and picked a verbal fight with me...I walked away and she tore my clothes off me and then tried to run me over with her car she ended up in jail...I was bleeding...

she put me in the hospital another time because I was listening to nascar on the radio...I was afraid...I could not just walk away...when I finally ended the relationship
it took my leaving the country to get away from her and when I came back, it took a domestic violance protective order as well as an arrest warrant to end the relationship (by the way I was living under a bush on the run since she was trying to hunt me down).......if you ever saw the movie fatal attraction...she left the inside of my house looking like a scene from the movie....in fact fatal attraction was mild compared to my experience....I have pictures, I have arrest warrants, I have hospital bills, I have witnesses...she stole ever posession that I owned...my REFRIGERATOR, lawn mower etc

worst case they take me to court and they put a lien on my house so I have to live here for ten years for the statute of limitations to run out...I have nothing else for them to take...just prefer to avoid the court and the lien

It is a rather sad story.

Female Abusers are quite minimal in most countries but
that does not mean it does not exist.

Dude, trying to run you over with her car calls for intention for murder. How long was she in jail?

How did she put you in the hospital? Weapons?

I suggest that you try to install a hidden camera, meet up with her and if she ever gets into her rage and starts hitting you at the very least you have evidence against her.

Take care man
