Well, I went through with it. I went to all the store front pdl's and told them I couldn't pay and began the process of setting up payments. Most of them were pretty understanding and reasonable. It could have been that I have been a PAYING, PAYING, PAYING customer for 2+ years. This is so freeing. I never believed I would ever be able to get out of this horrible cycle. In just 24 hours my stress level has gone down about 1000%

Now I will work on the Legal (As I found out) internet pdl. Any suggestions? It is backed by the First Bank of Delaware.

scribe, good for you! You took the hardest step and now you're well on your way of getting out of the pld cycle! I know the feeling! It takes guts to go in there and get this mess straightened out! Awesome job! Is your internet Check n' Go on line? I'm trying to remember...........

Thanks for the support. Yes, The Check N Go is on internet Through First Bank of Delaware. Someone said it was legal. However someone else said that internet loans were illegal in Kentucky where Ilive. So I am still a little confused.I know they will be e-mailing me on Monday. Any suggestions :?

First Bank makes installment loans instead of payday loans. Banks are allowed to make loans under federal law, which trumps state laws, to borrowers in any state. Even if Kentucky says internet loans are illegal, which is a little oversimplified (since Kentucky offers payday loan licenses and companies like CashNetUSA legally offer loans over the internet there) the First Bank loan would still be legal.

Now the good news. Even if you default, First Bank usually doesn't file lawsuits and their collectors have authority to make payment plans.

scribe, your installment loan will be legal in Kentucky. Installment loans are TOTALLY different than pdls. I know you did in on-line; however, it is not considered a pdl.

thanks for the info. If I default, which I already have--no monies in the account, do a certain number of payments have to be missed or just the one on Friday. Should I contanct them? Will they work with me from the get go or does ithave to go to a collections action? THanks in advance.

Scribe, since it wil go on your credit report, I would contact them and see if there is any way to work things out. From what I have read, first bank of deleware can be difficult so you may end up having to let it go to collections, but I would try everything I could to work it out. Be sure to document everything and do everything in writing so if it goes to collections or whatever, you can verify you tried to work things out.

Well, I e-mailed FBDelaware 3 days ago, explaining the situation and expressing a desire to work things out. I had heard nothing. This morning in my e-mail I had a bounce back from my server saying the message was not delivered due to no servers responding at the address. I doubled-checked the address and it was the one FBD had included in their e-mnail to me. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

They have not called yet. I am getting a letter ready to send right now, with copies of all the e-mails from me. I don't know about fax. I will get them up on-line and get a fax number. One other quick non-related question. I need to change e-mail on this site so that I can get this help at home. Is there a way to change my currently listed e-mail to the one I just established at home? Appreciate all the help.
