Does anyone know the 1-800# for alpha processing. I just got off the phone with crosby...and i finally got the original creditor from mr. patrick o'neal....after he told me there was nothing he could do since it had already been "sent upstairs"...wanted to know if i had anything to say that he could document. I asked him which one, and he stated "which one? How many do you have? Are you a habitual fraud?" I said no, i can't pay someone if i don't know who they are. Told him not to call my work again, or i would consider that harrassment...and he said harrassment? we're trying to get money for our client..i can call wherever i want...oh, and does anyone know the email address of the attorney general in florida?

Rachel

On my contract with Alpha Processing, they list their customer service phone number as 1-877-289-4700, but then at the bottom of the contract they also list that same number as their toll free fax number. They also have another fax number for submitting requests and questions to 1-877-945-3700. I hope this is some help to you.

HOWEVER, contacting Alpha Processing may or may not do you any good. More than likely they are going to tell you that your account has already been transfered to collections and that you will have to work with the CA in settling your debt.

In case that is what you are told, then you are in a bad situation. Elllis Crosby & Associates are being sued by the Florida Attorney General for illegal and abusive collection practices. If you read through some other threads about them, you will learn they are bad news. They are rude, they lie, they intimidate and harass consumers into paying them money. They accused me of committing check and internet fraud, said I was going to be arrested and that they would "expose" my criminal actions to my co-workers, family and friends. It was a horrible experience, just as yours.

Protect yourself and DONT AGREE TO PAY THEM A THING. If they call again, hang up. Keep records of everyime they call, what time they called, who you spoke to and what they said.

Myfloridalegal.com is the website for the Florida Attorney General. File your complaint there, also type in Ellis Crosby in the search field and read all about the lawsuit against them.

I don't plan on answering the phone anymore. That's why i have an answering machine. I said something to him about the lawsuit that the attorney general in florida has against them and he didn't say anything for a few seconds, then kept going like he didn't even hear me. I'll just wait until they sell it to someone who is ligit. If they start bothering people here at work...I'll talk to one of our lawyers here. He can call them. But i will be sending a cease and validation letter tomorrow.

Good idea, send the validation and C&D letter and dont take their calls. Make sure you keep a copy of the letter though and send it certified/return receipt.

Thats funny that you mentioned the lawsuit against them and they ignored you. It just shows how arrogant and stupid they are. Anyways, main thing is you have to protect yourself against EC. They are bad news!

If you do speak with them again, I would record the call. Check with your state law first. Some states require that both parties know the call is being recorded. In other states, only one party (you)has to know the call is being recorded. Even if you aren't recording the call, it is not a bad idea to tell them you are... at least most of them won't be so rude!

I would record the call to (if you can), whether it is legal in your state or not. If you cant, tell them you are anyways. They are probably going to argue with you and tell you that you do not have "permission" to record them, but who cares, at least you have record of the conversation and it may be useful and admissible in a court of law.

When I told EC I was recording them, oh the "investigator" got really mad and hung up. They know they are breaking laws and God forbid there is record of it. I havent heard from them since.
