Long story short- girlfriend hit me with car, lost job, couldnt pay. Now I want to get everything right again. I was talking with the previous collection agency and we were coming to an agreement and then they sent it to Kramer and Frank. What should I do with this. How do they work. The amount is 1225.23. Do they do settlements or do you have to pay the full balance off. Thanks for your help.

Kramer and Frank, I assume this is a collection agency/law firm? Could you get me some additional information on them? Like a phone number.
Also maybe you could get me some additional information about the situation. If there is any question I can't answer I'll get an answer from someone who does know.

I have dealt with them out of STL. They were very friendly. I was taken to court and they offered a monthly payment amount. I asked if it could be lowered and it was with no problem. Only problem was my amount was 1600 and got raised to 1900 after court costs. I'm payin the whole amount, but you should be able to work out monthly payments that you can afford.

I have also worked with them. I explained to them I had a serious illness and would make monthly payments. They agreed to that and the guy I was dealing with seemed okay. However, I had one payment returned (I was in the hospital at the time) and he then filed suit against me. They had only had the collection for 4 months. The collector I was dealing with was very rude and not understanding at all. I am not sure what to do know. I have been advised to call the attorney at K&F myself to make arrangements instead of the guy in collections, but will that help and can I even do that?

Kramer and Frank are jerks. Had a payment agreement with them. Job transfer for me to different state. Sent payment in, they returned it with a letter stating the account was closed by client. Four months later they are seeking wage garnishment. They do not return emails or answer their phones. They are nothing put scum bag collection lawyers.

Guest, they can't garnish your wages unless you were sued in court and they received a judgement against you. Check with the county clerk to see if a judgement was granted against you and when. If you weren't served properly, you can have the judgement vacated.
