I sent a PIF request to achloan.com yesterday via their customer service section on their website and this is what I got back from them:

As clearly stated in the loan contract, which you signed, this loan is not governed by the laws of America nor the laws of the state of Arizona, it is governed by the laws of Ireland with the jurisdiction of Dublin courts. As per the governing lending laws, your interest charge is $37 per $100 per pay period. We will continue to collect on the loan as per the agreement - failure to abide by the agreement will result in your loan being forwarded to collections for further action. If at any time you wish to pay your loan in full, please let us know.

Should I be scared of achloan.com? I understand from what I hear from a lot of you that this is an illegal company and that I only need to pay back the principle to them, is that correct?

Good luck to them. You are not governed by the laws of Ireland. Good grief. Gotta love these overseas pdls.

I recieved several e-mails, from Sonic PDL. Acording to them, they have "viewed my application" and would like me to "update it with them." Here's the funny thing.....I never filled out any application with them. Should I e-mail them back, to tell them this? Or..should I just let the e-mail 'go'?

These companies are really persistent about trying to find out your new bank acct., etc; I'm working w/ the State of Maryland re. my payday loans and EZPaydaycash is one of them. Well, PDL's aren't legal in Maryland, I've let them know they have to contact the State of Maryland if they have any questions, and I STILL get e-mails saying they can give me "great deals" on a new PDL! I mean, nothing like being obvious, huh?

I think it's interesting that PDL's are given in Maryland, too, even online; your site lists them as "prohibited" in Maryland, so I would think if any of these online companies are truly legitimate and trying to work within the law (ha!), at the VERY least they'd put something on their websites saying "void where prohibited?" At any rate, I'm working very closely with the State of Maryland in getting rid of the PDL's. If anyone out there is from Maryland, please call the number listed on this website for the MD Commissioner of Financial Regulation, they've been of great help to me. Of course, all of the PDL's say that they aren't subject to the laws of Maryland........ :D

The numbers that they gave me were all fake!! They told me that I had a attitude through a email and I told them I changed my account info.!! They send the money to your account just so they can take more and more without you realizing it!!! I advise anyone who is reading this don't use this company!!

I have gotten into some trouble w/payday loans. I have 3 out on is almost payed. Howerver I have another one in which when they deposited for there money they splitted in to half and since there was no money in my account at the time the bank charged me $28.00 fee for each deposited it made & it payed one of the deposited. I even called to try and reschedule my payment because I had put in the wrong date of pay. I didn't realize it until I looked over the papers later on that week. They have redeposited the other half the same way as they did the last time by splitting it up in to deposiet which by bank is charging me a $28.00 fee each time, because I can't get my account of the negative because they keep on debting and my bank charges each time they debt. Now they are saying they are going to send it to my employer to get them to take my money out. Then the other one I borrowed $200.00 and everytime I just role over the payment they charge me a $74.00 fee. Which has went back unpaid. Please help me.

less than a week.tell your bank to cancel it.in other words have them send it back where it came from.then put a hard debit block on your account or close that one and open a new account with the same bank if desired.this is a major pain of an illegal overseas pdl.you are better off without it.

RE PDL's in Maryland; the internet companies certainly have a lot of nerve; on one PDL site, they have a photo at the top with a customer "testimonial;" and he's listed as being from Maryland! How's that for nerve? The company is one that I had a PDL with and when they've called me they always say that the State Government in Maryland doesn't know what they're talking about (!!!) Yes, I DID let my contact at the MD Dept. of Financial Regulation know that this PDL had a supposed Maryland testimonial on their site; not that anyone can probably do anything about it... Thank goodness for all of the support I've gotten at this site and from the State of Maryland - there IS light at the end of that tunnel!

I am dealing with achloan right now and their phone is always busy and will only "talk" with me via their Help Centre. I told them I am closing my bank account and that I have informed my bank not to allow any ACH's from this company without my approval first!

"Connie;" if I were you, since you've already told them you're closing your account, I'd close that account as quickly as possible so they don't go into it and get any money they can. Keep a close eye on the account until you CAN close it; even if you told the bank not to allow achs' from that company, they might try to use another name. Keep us posted!
