Need Help in Illinois with payday loans :(

The first most important thing you can do is close your bank account to stop the pdl companies from taking money from you, then you need to send letters out to all of them.

TMBL is giving good advice, but before closing your account please read the following to be sure you can do it .

I've read the sample letters in the do it yourself section. Is that enough to send to the payday loan companies? What information do I need to make sure is in my leters? Thanks again!!

Annie, the letters there (unless they have updated them since my last visit) do not have everything you need in them. There are several circulating with everything you need in them. However, DO NOT tell the pdls what you are going to do and DO NOT send any letters until your account is taken care of or they will try to take all their money. Once you have closed your account and your money is secure, let us know and we can guide you through the next steps. In the meantime, we will get the letter to you so you can read over it and ask any questions.

If someone would not mind pm-ing Annie their letter, I seem to have left mu USB drive at work and all my pdl stuff is on there. :cry: Sorry about that..I guess I was in too much of a hurry to leave work...don' know why :roll:

I've opened up a new bank account, and have emailed & sent the letters out. Haven't had a response back yet. Should I go ahead and file the complaints with the BBB and atty general or wait until the loan companies contact me?

Looks like I will be doing that right off the bat. I sent the form letter you were kind enough to pm to me to B & L Marketing and this was their response:

We are always willing to work with anyone if there is a problem, but if you choose to handle things in this manner we cannot help you. The threats are NOT necessary. You signed a contract agreeing to pay back $260. I think this fair considering you agreed to do so. You had the option of not accepting the advance, but you did so. I find it hard to believe that you feel its right to borrow money and then change the rules on how to and how much to pay back. We do hope that you don????????t get in any trouble for spending the illegal monies. So far as the restrictions on when and how to correspond with you, it will be very hard to handle this without speaking with you. If you don????????t want us to contact you at work that is not a problem but again the threats just are not necessary. All you have to do is ask. We just want to get this resolved and I am sure we can if you will contact us. We have certain guidelines on how settlements are handled and they can only be made but speaking with you. If you choose to not call us to make arrangements we will assume that you are not going to settle this account and we will follow normal protocol on processing this account. Please call us and let????????s work this out.

I never said I wasn't going to pay my loan back..just pay back what the pricncipal amount was. And I never did get the mailing address requested for payment. I believe this group in in NC. I found 2 addresses (one here from this site :) )-B&L Marketing 320 S Powell Ave in Dunn (910)892-1136 and B&L Marketing Services, Inc. 1205 W. Cumberland St,Dunn (910) 892-8840. Not sure if these are the same company or not. I was trying to file acomplaint with the BBB but want to make sure was filing against the right company.

I just want an address to send my payment to and be done with them.

annie, I'm laughing because this is the same exact letter another member received from them. Good Lord. I wish they would use different wording every now and then. This is the address I came up with:

also can you ask who that someone at Attorney General's office was? So that you can forward your reply to them as well? If you can't sink that low..how does nibble me sound?!!!

I wish they would stop it! This is spam and it is annoying. When I think there is a new post RELATED to the string and there they are everywhere spamming. Cant a moderator stop them from doing this?

wow I'm thinking moderators probably spend most of their time trying to help actual people who sign in here and MODS might spend their downtime eliminating spammers..however I am glad that the biggest part of their time is spent on actually helping guests who sign in or guests who they sense aren't trolling!
any new guest post can be related to anything ...look at Newton's theory of relativity.. all things can be connected but I am a firm believer of what comes around goes around and Yah spam is annoying but I had a spamwich burger with cheese the other day that wasn't too bad actually.....
