Citbank sueing me for $6,400

First of all you need to send a debt validation letter. Because if it is truly 7 years you need to find out what the sol is for your state. Please let us know what state you live in and someone will look up that information for you.

7 years from the last payment or 7 years from when you opened it.

Send a validation letter immediatly to the company that is sueing you. Answer your summons in the time they give you.

I"m in New Jersey, the card was opened in 2000 but I'm not sure when the last payment might have been maybe in 2003.. As far as the court notice I"m not sure if its a summons..It says that I can contact the Clerk of the court in writing within 10 days ...

Welcome to the Community :D Here is a link for your states' SOL laws at http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/SOL-by-State.html#31 It sounds like a summons, but to be sure-contact the courts clerks office. If it si, you need to answer it, or they win by default.
