Internet lenders can lend in PA as long as they are licensed in another state and they have to follow the laws of that state.

Both Crown and United are not licensed in any State. You are only obligated to pay the principal. Which is $200 per company. There is only one Crown Lending, with a drop box mail location in TX. These guys take foreign addresses to evade the law.
Does anyone know how these illegal/unregulated internet lenders
Does anyone know how these illegal/unregulated internet lenders fund these loans? Do they partner with the national or state banks through ACH system. Would the bank then fund the loan and the lender/pdl loan company collect on it (and the bank stays out of the transaction)?? Make you wonder, where are they getting the money from. Can anyone shed light on this mystery, or correct me if I'm wrong.
i hate this
I am sorry for having to ask all of you for this much help but i want to make sure i complete everything perfectly to finally stop these illegal deductions and so i may be able to have a holiday with out the worry of a check bouncing due to these thevies. could some on eplease help me with the proper steps and stop letters i need to get this ball truly rolling i am in the process off closing my bank account. but there is where im stuck

keys, first step is CLOSE THAT ACCOUNT. Do not send the pdls any letter until this account is to the point (however you have to do it) to where they can no longer access it. I'm going to post something by goudah for you to read regarding closing your bank account, okay? Read this and post any questions. You need to get the bank straightened out FIRST. Then we do have letters that we can send you that you can mail to your pdls (both of which will be considered unlicensed/illegal). And do not worry about asking questions. We will help you the entire way. Here is the information regarding closing bank accounts. Please post any questions. Once we get the bank account straightened out, we're going to send letters to your illegal plds.

Before you close your bank account due to payday loans eating away at your paycheck, please read this. Some banks have a policy regarding ach transactions that allows them to force open closed accounts if any ach transactions go through within a certain time frame after the account is closed. This can leave you owing a legal bank $1,000's and reported to chexsystems, instead of owing barely legal (or not at all legal) payday loan companies. Not a good thing. Ask your bank what their policy is on ach transactions on closed accounts before you close the account. It's best to go in person and talk to a branch manager. If your bank does have this policy, tell them your situation. Don't be embarrassed. Take letters with you showing that you have revoked authorization for each of your payday loan companies to debit your account. Tell the bank to put your account on deposit only, an ach block, or a hard hold before they close the account. Your bank can do one of those, don't take no for an answer. This will prevent any payday loan ach's from reopening the bank account. It'a always best to close your bank account. Leaving it open gives ways for the payday loan companies to continue to take money out. These companies have many different dba's, so blocking them won't work. They will also produce paper checks and run them through your account. Closing the account is the best way to prevent these companies from taking money out of your account. Some state laws do allow for prosecution if you close your bank account, but that is usually in cases of fraud. But it's always best to check with your state's attorney general or department of financial institution before you close your account. You want to make sure you are not causing more heacaches! Jason, I just stressed to my bank that these are unlicensed illegal companies that were removing money from my account without my authorization after I had paid them in full. I also stressed that I was working with the State Attorney General and the Department of Financial Institutions to resolve this situation. And I gave them copies of my letters where I had cc: to those agencies. You will need to use whomever your state regualting agency is.

Just jumping in here. Regarding the bank giving this person a "hard way to go". Hell, I just said "I am working with an attorney to get this resolved with these illegal companies." There. Done. Whatever makes them happy. If that's what they want to hear, friggin tell them. Whatever it takes to get your bank account "safe".

What state do you reside in? And what is the status of your bank account? Is it still open/active to where they can continue to debit you?

Hello everyone, I too live in Pa and will be checking out that site. I had gotten a loan of $200 with the $60 fee, and I have since paid them like $290 or more and they are going to take out $95 on the 8th of Apr. I haven't called them yet but I just happened to find this site and was reading about all the other people that are getting ripped off byt UCL. I just thought that I would mention my problem as well. And I just received a letter from Colorado stating that they overpaid me for unemployment benefits, and now I have to pay them $643 but I did make payment arrangements though, because I didn't take care of the first notice, they added $400 more so I am up to my eyeballs in debt. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I might just have to close my account for my bank because I feel that I have paid them on the loan and then some. Thanks
