Thanks Roxy I do have the DV letter. I live in Florida, and I borrowed $350 from them and I never made a payment because I had to close my account. I did email them stating that I wanted to make arrangements to pay them back but they never responded.

That's okay, kate. You have proof that you tried to work with these people. Just keep everything. And wait until you hear from the "collection agency" and then send out the DV letter. :D

Then they call me saying that I "can settle" with them for 590, my loan was also for 350, I told them no way, I have been trying to get in touch with you, its not my fault that it took sooooo long for you to respond!

I was able to get a hold of them about 2 months ago, and the lady who I spoke to told me that they would settle for 70% of my balance, so i told her how much is that? She said it was $470, that without the 70% it was about $1500. They are crazy!

With as many problems and complaints against these PDL companies, I am very surprised the government hasn't done something to put a stop to them. I am all for Free Enterprise BUT this is totally ridiculous.
