I guess by 40% interest, I was talking about the kind of loan where I could pay it back over the course of 2 or 3 refunds, not 10 days. The 500% industry standard is just insane.

Yea, there are some pretty strict stips on these too....you have to use them to electronically prepare the taxes, a bunch of fees unless you open a debit card with them  , etc, etc.....reminiscent of a PDL if you ask me.
It was a creative idea and good to explore all avenues. Unfortunately this one could land you in more trouble, which is what you want to get out of.

I made some 401k payments from a full-time job I once had, but it wasn't big enough for them to keep or payout without charging a significant fraction of the total of the account. Since Refund anticipation loans (RALs) are bank loans secured by your tax refund, the IRS is not a party and from what I know, are not in the business of offering loans directly. I have tried to find all the threads that these people posted in and hopefully I have not missed one. Will have to look some more here in a little bit. Just hope they see my post after the big post where my session timed out to know it was me. When I was reading what these people were writing, I just got a bad feeling. I have a feeling it is the same person posting under both names. Hopefully no one has falled for this yet.
