 I have about 4 payday loans out, and a cash call loan. I am in default on 2 payday loans (closed my account) and I am 2 months behind on a cash call loan. I am an idiot! I know this and have beat myself up already. I have a budget in place and it is working however, I need more help on this. I understand it is my debt and I need to pay it however, I have got to get this consolidated into one payment, credit cards included ($5000 in cc debt). Then I can pay it and not die each month on my normal bills to live.

I am scared they will garnish me, they are harrassing me so bad I have to change my #'s. I just need some advice on where to go to consolidate "ALL" of this. There has to be a place somewhere that will do this with these loans.

Thanks

I am going through American credit counseling. they are very nice and are very willing to help. Don't feel like an idiot because you are not and definately do not beat yourself up about it. I have for a long time and I realize now after being on this site that so many people get in this situation so I am not the only one. They help so much.

jennifer, If you want to share we can look at helping you with your pay day loans. If you will tell us whether they are storefront or internet, who you borrowed from, how much you have borrowed from each, how much you have paid to each and the state you live in. With this information we can point you in the right direction.

I too am in the payday loan death trap that is impossible to get out of. I have one with Cash Transfer Centers that I recently defaulted on. They have threatened to garnish my wages if not paid now. I have found a company called PDL Eliminators who can help me pay this loan off. But I am hesitant to make another foolish financial mistake and to give my money to a company that will not help. Does anyone have information about how to stop the calls and the wage garnishment? Also, does anyone know anything about PDL Eliminators.

A good first step to do is write what is called a Cease and Desist letter to the company--and based on my own personal experience, I know that Cashcall is probably the worst company that you're dealing with.
In this letter, you spell out to them what method, if any, they can use to contact you--be it email, snail mail or whatever.
I told Cashcall that they were not allowed to contact me anymore by telephone and if they did, I would notify the office of the California AG pronto. This helped, as the calls stopped.

This is for guest sw - your loan with Cash Transfer Centers will be an unlicensed/illegal loan. They are not going to attempt to "garnish" your wages. However, they will attempt to send a "wage assignment" to your employer. A wage assignment is totally voluntary and can be revoked. You need to (right now) type up a quick letter to Cash Transfer Centers stating that you revoke any and all wage assignments you have signed. Email it/fax it/mail it certified to them. Keep a copy and give a copy to your HR/payroll person. You need to do this now before they have the chance to send it to your employer. Also, have you done anything regarding your bank account to prevent them debiting it any further?

Thanks for the advise. I will type that letter now and send it to Cash Transfer Centers. Does anyone have a mailing address fof them? My understanding is that I have over paid them and should be given a refund......Any advice on how to settle this without it costing me more money?

Thanks for the addresses. Do you know anything about PDL law in Colorado? Is this illegal and am I obligated to repay the full amount due?

sw, do not anticipate a refund of any kind from Cash Transfer Centers. They will do almost anything to get "their" money (such as sending out wage assignments). Just be sure they do not have access to your account any longer. And be sure you send out that wage assignment letter. In all actuality, we do advise people to pay back what they have borrowed. No illegal fees/charges. Just what was deposited into their bank account. So whatever they deposited in your account, you can pay that back.
