I've closed my account. Now, do I need to send these compaines written letters or can it be done through email? Do I give the legal ones my new account information? Can the illegal ones then find out my new account?

Listen to Kash do not ever give out your new information and do not apply for another pdl again because that's how they can get into your new account.

Yes you can communicate through email I did. I also followed up with a written letter if I had a fax number. Make sure that you save any email correspondence that you get from them as proof.

aman, do you need a letter to use as a "guide" to send to the pdls? When dealing with legal ones, you need to contact them and tell them you no longer have a bank account, so they can no longer debit & you will have to have an alternative way of paying (such as what kash suggested - prepaid card or money orders). With the legal ones, you will just have to set up an alternative meathod of payment, okay? Do not give them your new bank account information (as kash also pointed out). Don't give it to anyone. As far as the illegal ones go, we do have a letter to use as a "guide" that you can send to each one of them. You can email it/fax it/ mail it certified to each pdl. I sent mine every way possible. Make sure you have documentation of EVERYTHING. You will want to do everything in writing so that you have documenation of everything. Telephone calls can not be documented, so try not to speak to these people over the phone. Use email or USPS only. Any questions, just post!

I would love a guide to go by. I haven't contacted the legal loan places yet. I am so nervous to do so. I'm afraid of how they will respond. Have you had any experience with this? Also I'm pretty sure I know which are legal in my state and which are not, but I want to make sure. I went to the state website, but cannot find on the site how to figure out if they are legal. Any suggestions?

aman, please tell us again what state you're in and the pdls that you have. I can't find the thread that you posted the original information on.

Loanshop/DKS
MTE Financial
Geneva Roth Cap
USFastCash
GFS

The above will not be licensed/legal in your state.

ZipCash
Payday One
CashNet USA

The above will be licensed/legal in your state.

GOUDAH, PLEASE VERIFY THIS INFORMATION FOR ME TO BE 100% SURE FOR AMAN.

aman, it is never a "waste of time" to demand a refund. What is it going to hurt? Please demand a refund for any of them that you have overpaid. However, just do not count on definately getting one. But it is always worth asking for. And, yes, please file your complaints on the illegal companies with the BBB, the FTC, and your state AG.

I know that goudah will be along soon to verify the legal/illegal ones for you so that we can be 100% sure. Please wait until we get her response before "putting it in stone".

aman, here's what I need for you to do. Can you go to the main screen on this site and sign up as a member? This way you will be a registered member and we can then send pm's (private messages) to each other. I can't do it while you're a "guest". You'll notice under everyone's post there is a little button with two people on it with pm on it. You can click this and you can send and receive messages to members. If you could please register as a member, you will get a userID and password and then you'll have access to your own home page, pm features, and all kinds of stuff. Can you do this? If you can do this, then post again with your registered name and I can send you a letter through pm. Okay?

amantos! Wonderful! :D I did receive your pm just fine! I sent you 2 messages. Do you know how to check your messages? Look to the side of the screen and you will see where it says 'CHAT'. Look just below it. It should say "You have 2 messages". Click on that. A screen will come up with my messages. Just click on them to open them and read them. You can hit "reply" if you want to respond to them. Let me know if you received them. And if you have any questions at all, just let me know!

Shelleybowman - the number to Midland is 888-920-1300. Its also the number to SSM Group, and CMG Group. I just visited another forum for people having problems with payday loans and several people were able to stop the finance charges or have their loans considered paid in full by calling the company and asking if they had a license and to provide it to you. Apparently a lot of these companies do not and when confronted they bow out. Hope this helps
