It looks as though the California AG's office is taking a look at Cash Call and their collection practices. When I got home from work last night I received a letter from the Consumer Law Section of the AG's office requesting that I call them with further information. I had filed a complaint and had not heard anything until now. Apparently with permission from the customer the AG's office will be requesting files from Cash Call so they can take a look at them. Not really sure where this will get everyone, but it looks like someone is finally paying attention.

That's right I did file with the CA attorney generals office. My opinion is that it sure can't hurt. The more complaints they get the better.

Just to give you an idea of what they are looking at, here is an excerpt from the letter they sent me.

"The Consumer Law Section of the California's Attorney General's Office is investigating business practices of companies making small cash loans to borrowers"

Further down in the letter, this is in regard to my file from Cash Call. "We want to assure you that if we receive your information from Cash call, we will keep it confidential and use it only to further our investigation and in any legal action we may file against Cash Call.

To me this sounds promising. I for one think it's about time. I told them yesterday that the best thing they could do for all that had filed complaints was to get our files from Cash Call and maybe it would stop any further action right now. I know I need to clear up this debt but I'll tell you for the first time I actually want to get sued or turned over to collection to get past the 96% interest rate.

I am with you there. I am getting to that point. KS said she hates them worse that the pdls and I whole heartedly agree. I really hop others read this thread and file complaints as well.
