If you can deal with the original creditor that would be best. Send a letter to the collection agency via certified mail and tell them that you do not owe this money to them but to the original creditor and will only deal with them. Then send a certified letter to the credit card company requesting a settlement offer for a lumps sum payment. Or offer a lump sum payment for a certain amount that is lower then you expect to pay. They may come back with an offer.
If you are dealing with HSBC or Orchard Bank they will not respond and you will be forced to deal with the CA. If you tell us who the third party collectors are and for what accounts we can help you further. Certain collectors will try to extort money from you.

I also have Wells Fargo and a couple of banks reporting twice (of being charged off) to my credit report. How do i get it fixed for its just 1 account? Causing a double post to my credit report is making it show i have $3,000 more debt than what i actually have. I have a couple of other companies who the same things are happening with. Could these double showing be making my credit score seem lower than what it should be?
Iam on the fast track on getting my debt fixed, and this site is helping so much. And i almost have the money to take care of a great portion of it, but i want these duplicate repostings to be taken care off first before i give the creditors my money.

If you are going to attempt to deal with the creditor on this then you are going to need to follow up, a lot. The creditor on the accounts I work with are notorious for putting it all on the card holder to do everything.

There oughtta be a dispute link available. There was on my Experian report, but that's the only one I've dealt with online so far. Good thing those dispute links are there, too. My report was full of old, obsolete, or just plain inaccurate entries. Going to be entertaining to see what comes of it.

I did find a couple of errors and did file disputes on the credit report. Now iam ready to start talking to companies to provide a payoff. What kind of letter should i send and does anyone have examples that would work well?
Thanks!

Some will, some won't. All it costs you to make the offer is postage. Hell, the worst they can do is say no, right?
