Problems When You Make Your Own Gifts

I did!! I'm knitting a blanket for my mother-in-law. The pattern claims its a "6 hour Throw". So far its been 2 weeks! First I realized I didn't have enough stitches on my needles. So after a week of knitting & 1/3 done, I had to take it apart. Then restarted but made more stiches on my needle-but then the needle was too crowded! Ended up buying circular needles. While starting the project AGAIN for the 3rd time, the circular needle fell apart! I tried to save it, but I dropped a lot stiches & it unraveled. Then I finally fixed the needle myself & FINALLY restarted last night. So I'm on try #4!! LOL!

omg yes. the year my mother passed away (dec. 2001) I came up with a plan for my dad and sister for christmas. So I took all of my mom's recipes and typed them up on my computer (most of the time I was up till 3 am typing) then I printed them all out and bought those plastic sleeves to put them in just in case we slopped on them they could be washed off. Then I bought a big binder and put them in there. I made a cover with all kinds of family photos. It was pretty cool and I was proud of myself to get it done in time. I started it a week before christmas. So them when they opened them my sister started crying, then she started paging through and found my spelling mistakes. And that was only because I was falling asleep while I was typing. lol So now instead of her making frozen pickles she is making forzen pickles. She NEVER lets me live it down. She will call me when she finds a new mistake. She called me and asked me what a rgg was. I was like wth are you talking about? Then she was reading me what she was making, so I found it in my book. and I told her it's a dam egg I just hit the "r" instead. Then she laughs and tells me she knew that but had to get that dig in grrrrrr. Try and do something nice while in a state of grief and all they do is pick on me now. So when they ask me to type them up a new recipe I tell them no, do it yourself lol.
