hello is anyone familiar with national money store. i had a 300 dollar loan with them and i refinanced like 5 times until i was unable to pay them anymore. well i got a call at work the other day from a man name greg from A&E Associates a law firm stating that they were sending papaers to my local county jail saying i committed check fraud which could be a misdemeanor or felony depending on how much interest had been added on. they said if i got stopped by a police i would go to jail because i would show up in the system with pending charges then he said he did a background check on me and i dont have a record so this would really mess me up. he is requesting 365.00 from me by tuesday or the papers go to my local jail to arrest me. i need help i dont know what to do right a christmas time i dont have that all that to pay him at once.


I'm not familiar with National Money Store, but I am familiar with the scam. First off, you aren't gonna get arrested or sent to jail for owing money to a bunch of scumbags. Him telling you that you were is a violation of Federal law [fdcpa] right there. Read through this forum a bit. You'll see the same thing, over and over again. It's BS, and it's illegal.

On your loan troubles. Be so kind as to post the state you live in, and the total amount you've paid on the loan. That'll give us a start in looking up the state laws and such. There'll be some more knowledgeable folks along shortly or in the morning to help you along further.

Ok so he cant say that it is a worthless check?? Cuz he said i wrote them a check back in april and now i have closed my account he said it is check fraud. I live in va. I have paid national money store about 200.00 on a 300.00 loan. Im scared because i live in chesterfield and work at the chesterfield jail i cant get a warrent at my job. Im so scaared

First off, take a deep breath. I have dealt with AS&Associates. I too dealt with a Greg Patton. He told me the same thing. I took out a payday loan from National Money Store last year. I paid back several roll-overs. I live in Indiana and after finding this forum I can tell you that you are NOT going to get arrested. What you need to do is file a complaint against AS&Associates like yesterday. The man you are referring to is Greg Patton. I still have the recording he left on my answering machine at home from late April or early May of this year. He has called me at work and told me the same things he told you. I will do some research for you but I dont think National Money Store is licensed in your state. Therefore, you only need to pay back what you borrowed. So, you should only pay back $ 100.00. Mr. Patton is an a$$hole! You get my meaning. File a complaint with the BBB and your Attorney Generals office.

Also, if and when or you can do it now. Send a validation letter attention to Greg Patton asking him to cease and desist and have them validate the debt. The day he called me at work he argued with me for minutes and told me that he didnt have to send me anything in writing. Finally about 5 days later I got a fax from him which was not accurate. He wanted $ 570.00 for a $ 300.00 loan. I told him there was no way. I faxed and sent certified letter asking him to validate it and that was in May- I have yet to get that validated. If he cant validate it then you are not obligated to pay it. It's not a valid debt if he cant/wont provide you with anything in writing.

ok so i cant go to jail, he said its check fraud and what is a validation letter someone help me pls he is calling my job 5 and6 times a day and saying that its urgent that he speak with me when people tell him i cant have personal calls at work i will pay them but i just cant afford what he wants right now. help me please.

I received my well versed call from A S & Associates. Do anyone know the address or fax number to A S & Associates? and or/ the address for National Money Store?

One of these days, these people (meaning pdl people) will learn that people are not going to be scared of them forever. The more people that can be educated, the better off things will be. I am so tired of hearing these people trying the same old things to threaten people! I am really hopeing that things will start to turn abround in 08.

OMG Im going thru this same thing with these creeps. but mine is an investigator lee. from a&s my loan was 200.00 but they say I owe 660.00. the witch even asked if I had ever been to jail and that I had 6-7 counts against me. including fraud. I already paid them 200.00 theyre not getting a penny more.
