Keep your receipts to prove your case.

I made a deposit last night at one of the brand new envelope-free atms. I did a cash deposit into savings and a money order deposit into checking. I received my receipts from the atm showing that the deposit had been made, but it wasn't showing an updated balance from my credit union.
I waited all night to see if it would turn up and it never did so I called my credit union - they searched. Told me to dispute via ATM transaction and send the ATM department the receipts. I have received a provisional credit, but something strange is going on with this cu and the atm network. Not even my family can use their cards to get atm balances, you can make withdrawals and deposits, but it isn't showing up in real time.
Thank goodness I keep all my receipts. You wouldn't believe the number of people I see immediately toss their receipts in the trash after making a deposit or withdrawal at these ATMs.

My husband is soooooooooooooooo bad about that and I get so mad. He doesn't throw away the receipts, he presses the button that says he doesn't want one
I couldn't agree with you more. That receipt can come in handy.

The missing deposits have shown up.
The missing deposits have now shown up and my accounts are a mess - but they were speedy in correcting the problems. Maybe they can reverse the provisional credits tomorrow and my accounts will look normal again.
