I am getting emails & calls from Westbuy Ventures. The person calling me is Sharon Williams. I have asked a couple of times to send me an agreement that I've signed but she claims she doesn't have that information. She gave me a bank acct. I had several years ago, but is now closed. If I did take out this loan, then yes, I will pay for it, but if I didn't I don't want to. My original loan was $300 & I paid $240 in May, 2007 because I was threatened. Well, I emailed them to let them know I couldn't pay & they wouldn't budge. I didn't pay so now this is December & they are sending emails for me to pay. I did talk to Ms. Williams & made a payment arrangement to pay by 12/31/07, but got suspicious and inquired about the company. So, I emailed them back to send documents, but Ms. Williams called & basically threatened me. I stumped, please advise. Thanks!


ahloo, send them (in writing) a debt validation letter. This is most likely an illegal debt. It is your right to receive debt validation when someone is trying to collect from you. More than likely, they won't be able to validate the debt, since they can't even produce any contracts for you as requested. Send the debt validation letter & in the meantime, keep your payment you were told to send on 12/31. Until they can properly validate the debt, hold on to your money.

Please do as cannr suggests. Don't pay them another dime until you have proof of the debt. Did you perhaps take out a internet payday loan, the reason I ask this is because Westbury Ventures does collecting for various internet pdl co's.

Also it would be helpful if you could provide us with the state that you reside in so that someone can take a look at the pdl's in your state if it was a pdl.

Thank you to both of you. I live in Mississipppi & any help w/Pay Day loan laws will help. I did not pay them as today was the last day. Sharon Williams called me this morning & left a message stating I needed to pay today!! If not, I will owe about $840 plus any fees.
