Just curious, has anyone else taken payday loans out thru achloan.com? I'm working with the State of Maryland Financial Commission on getting out of my payday loans, have closed my bank, etc. Payday loans are illegal in Maryland. Haven't heard much from the other payday loan companies I was dealing with, but dealing with achloan.com is a REAL experience! The people w/ the State of MD told me to just hang up on ach when they call, but they call right back - they're calling at my work, they're saying they're going to come and get me, and so on. (State of MD said a lot of companies use these threat tactics) They're based in New Delhi India but they have a call-through telephone number with a Utah area code. I tell you what, it's almost funny; they call, give me their spiel about how I'm behind in paying off my payday loan, then I tell them that the State of MD says I don't have to pay them, and then the guy goes off on a rant... they'll call my supervisor at work (I told them my supervisor already knew about it), they'll take me to the British courts (?), you name it. And then before they hang up, they tell me to have a nice day! The loan amount wasn't even very big, I'm just curious to see how long they'll keep calling - has anyone else dealt with them and how long did they bother you?

Ireland? Really? The State of Maryland did some tracing on these people, they said they were located in India. Or maybe at least the ACH call center is located in India. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me any timeframe for approximately how long they'll keep bothering me....?

Yeah, that's the # they call me from, too; it's a Utah area code. But when you try calling it back, you just get "beeps," etc., so apparently it's just a # they've gotten for calling out in this country. I'll tough it out, but you know what, it is SO good to be out from under the Payday loans, isn't it?

I took a 200 dollar loan from then a couple of motnhs ago. Them I noticed that they took 34 or so dollars from my account I was supposed to pay 70 something much later on. I reported it to my bank and closed my account and started over. Man I'll never do THAT again. Any other recommendations? I'll probably change my phone too.
