I have 7 ipdl's that all bounced on the 17th of Dec. when i froze my account. Since then, 6 of the 7 companies sent my personal info, loan app etc, to a company called "Icollect". On Dec. 20th I recieved email from Icollect stating who the acounts where refered to for collection. I called the original debtors and they wont settle with me, they all say the same thing, they sold the debt to Icollect. In the email from Icollect, 4 of them were sold to AIS and 1 to Unitedpayservices. AIS only had 3 of them and they bought and sold them in the same day to another company called NCA. I have spoke with NCA and htey were very helpful, allowing me 90 days to pay all 3 loans off without reporting it to my credit. But Icollect lost 2 of the loans because they haven't told me who they were sent to and when I call them at their number 866-856-1024 I get an automated recording that says they are a debt broker and they dont collect on debts. I have left messages with them and they wont return my calls and all i want is to know who they sent the other 2 pdl's to. I have sent them emails but I dont think the email address is accurate, appinfo(at)thebmggroup.com. Doesn't sound like Icollect to me. BIG ltd. wants me to give them an account number to draft the money from but I really dont want to give out my new account number. AND Unitedpayservices hasn't called me at all and they have had the debt for 9 days now, and i thought that was kinda strange, so I called my employer to give them a heads up about this collector may attempt to contact them and to my surprise, they already have been calling them! They havent once sent me an email nor have they called me on my home line or cell, they went straight to my job. My HR friend told me that they can call as much as they like and they get the same response, Employees cannot accept calls. I thought that was great! BUT when I did finally talk to someone at UnitedPayServices, the guy pulled my account and told me that I owed $640 which isnt true, and he couldnt tell me who the original creditor was, he then put his "boss" on the phone (the guy in the cubical next to him) and I had the same discussion with his boss, I told the guy I only owed 420 and he said yes 420 and I said the other guy told me 640 and he said that the other guy didnt know what he was talking about, but he told me that they needed a bank acct to draft the payment and I told him that I cant have a bank acct right now cuz I am getting divorced and my acct has been frozen and I cant have a bank acct anywhere in my name, and he said that i could get a savings acct and they could draft it from there. I think he is full of crap and I am not giving him any acct number. Anyone have any advice? I want to resolve my debts but I am not gonna send money to just anybody and those guys at Icollect wont return my messages and UnitedPayservices seems to me to be a rippoff company.

You need to provide us with more details such as what state are you in, how much did you borrow, how much have you paid back? Are these internet pdl's or store fronts? Store front's are more than likely operating legally in your state and will and can sue you.

If I were you I would send them a cease and desist letter and only communicate with them via email or usps so you have records of everything. Someone will be along shortly to assist you further.

As shazzers stated, you need to send (in writing) a letter to each of these collection agencies demanding debt validation. I've dealt with both AIS and NCA. Send them all a debt validation letter. Do NOT give your bank account information to ANYONE. None of them. The pdls, the collection agencies, no one. Let the collection agencies validate the debt (most likely won't be able to). Also, you stated you're dealing with BIG. Tell them to bite the big one. They are so totally illegal it's unreal. They will call and hound you to death; however, that's all they can do. Do NOT give your account information to anyone, please. No one needs your account information. You can pay with money order/money gram/whatever. And, make sure you send them those debt validation letters. Get these out as soon as you can. BIG will bug the living crap out of you, but that's it. They'll call you to death. Other than that, they can sit in the UK and stare at each other.

okay but what about UnitedPayServices, they won't let me pay any other way than by bank acct? Oh and I still have not gotten in touch with any one at Icollect. seems like they are a phantom business cuz only a machine picks up and I have called and called (like the collectors do to us, Hehe) and left messages but they arent responding. Any suggestions? Oh and also, i have been doing research and from what i can tell, if I was to file bankruptcy the original debtor will be included in the bankruptcy case and they will work out necessary arrangements, so if they can do it for those who file bankruptcy then why wont they do it for me? I just want to pay them and be done.

today I arranged to have discover take a payment out of my new checking acct, I feared doing this for the simple fact that my acct number is out there in the "system". They assured me that my info was secure but I cant help but be paranoid after reading that these pdls are acquiring peoples acct numbers that they did not give to them. Anyone think I should be concerned?

First of all United Pay Services should NOT be paid. They are illegal. They will call youat all hours of the day and night. They will call your employer millions of times a day. Plus they are being investigated by FL. DO NOT pay them. They wanted me to pay by moneygram and I was stupid and scared enough to send them money, until I found this site. Then when I learned my rights and found they were breaking the law and I called them on it one day when they called me, they haven't called me since. They have an addy in FL but when you call them you are calling overseas. ANd I believe that when you get the message when you call I-Collect press in 100, that should get you to a live person. The number I have for I-Collect is 1-866-856-1024, then I would get a message and I just started pressing numbers until I got a live person. So give that a shot. Good luck and make sure to inform FL's AG about United Pay Service.

Wait a minute. How is that ILLEGAL PDL companies can collect on a debt?? Why are they selling consumers accounts to these "so called" collection agencies. I am confused, laws do not allow ILLEGAl debt collection. I think this is all a bluff to get more money from hard working folks. Someone jump in here.
