how do I find out if the companies that I have loans out with licenses to lend in Nebraska. Where do I go from here..

No problem! I would go to your state gvt website and check business licenses. For example, in California you would go to the Dept of Corporations where they have a place to pop in the name of the business to do a search, and it will tell you whether it has a legal license in your state or not.
Now one thing to be aware of: several PDL's might be under the same corporate umbrella, but have different DBA's (stands for "Doing Business As",) which is a legal name. In these cases, the license might be under the owner's name. For example, Heathmill in Britain runs Cash Today and several other PDL's. This is something to look out for--and is like doing a giant puzzle.

Just a quick note (hopefully a helpful one!)

If you go to paydayloaninfo.org, click on "state info" and then click on your state on the map that comes up, it will bring up your state's payday loan law, along with links to the governmental agency for your state that controls payday lenders - and a link to the licensee database for your state.

Definitely check under all possible DBA's, as mentioned by kscornell above - the internet PDL's are famous for operating under several different company names. Do a search of any known company names on our website here, and you may come up with the other DBA's the company uses. Over time, we've been able to link many of the company names together.

We can check for you. However, I believe the reason you are not finding them in your state licensee database is because they are not licensed to lend to you. I know off the top of my head that Northway is not, GFSIL is not, don't believe Arrowhead is, don't believe Ambassador is. NetCashUSA - I don't think is - not positive. I've never heard of Amcash Funding. The Pay Day Cash Link and the 800-420-8023 Pdayservc - is that PayDay Service? I honestly don't think any of them are licensed in your state. I'm just afraid that Amcash may be using a different name and the 800-420-8023 PDayServc may be using a different name.

In Nebraska there aren't criminal charges for closing an account or stopping payment. The only ones to really worry about are the legal companies. They could take civil action against you, but as long as you are communicating with them and making payments you will be fine.

The illegal companies can't do anything, since they are operating illegally in the first place.

With the account closed, you have done the first step! Congrats! You are doing the right thing if your goal is regaining control of your finances.

jmadma, your account is closed. Great! As goudah said, this is the first & correct step when dealing with the illegal pdls. Take care of your storefronts. Don't screw them or you could get into trouble. As for your illegal pdls, we do have a letter that we can send to each pdl advising them of their illegal nature, your state law, etc.... If you would like assistance in getting these letters to your pdls, let me know. Also, we need to file some complaints with the agencies. Just post & we can help you with all this.

Should these letters be certified. But Cannr stated above "As for your illegal pdls, we do have a letter that we can send to each pdl advising them of their illegal nature, your state law, etc.... If you would like assistance in getting these letters to your pdls, let me know. Also, we need to file some complaints with the agencies. Just post & we can help you with all this. " Is there in fact something that you can do to help. or do I need to follow through with this on my own by getting the letter from you and send them out myself Just needing some advise. Thanks so much
