I am VERY angry right now as I have just discovered that my debt management company, CCCS, has just overpaid an account to the tune of $135!!! (It was a an internet PDL, so there is NO CHANCE of recovering this overpayment.) This is the second time this has happened. And they charge $30 a month to "manage" my debts.

If I drop out of their program and take over the payments myself, what would happen? They did get the cc companies to lower intrest rates and lower min payments. Do you think the companies would work with me in the same way?

I AM FURIOUS!!!

You sound angry, I am a debt advisor for lewis alexander in the Uk and can advise that in the Uk you can leave debt plans but they become un organised if you fail to continue payements to creditors. You must check the terms of your contract but i would write to the debt company and tell them you have the issue raised in the blog,

Hope this helps,,

Regards

Lewis

Also since this is the 2nd time they have done that can you get them to waive your $30 payment for the next 4 months? At least this way you won't lose the $135 or can they short pay this account by $135 each month - letting the PDL know they over paid so now they will be paying less? This isn't ideal but maybe you won't just lose those funds.

The PDL (EastSideLenders) was paid in full months ago. I have no idea what caused them to all of a sudden send them more money!! That is a good idea about asking them to waive the $30 charge. I'm still fuming.
PS - I couldn't find this post earlier -realized I had forgotten to sign in - posted again a few minutes ago. Apologies....
