I have three payday loans out in iowa that are though a store not the internet can I close my bank account or would that be illegal. When do I tell them I would
like a repayment plan?

redshoes, your state pdl law does not specify "criminal action", so do be careful. My suggestion? As the other members stated above, see if your storefronts are members of the CFSA. If they are, you can invoke the EPP (as they stated) and make 4 equal payments coinciding with your paydates to pay these loans off. And, as kash stated, no more interest is added and all collection efforts stop if you stick to your payment plan. You need to contact each storefront BEFORE your loans are due. Ask them if they are members of the CFSA (or look it up). If they are, see if you can invoke the EPP to pay them off. If they are not members, see if you can set up another payment option. Do not close your bank account yet though. Since it does not specify "criminal action" and the storefronts do have an actual check from you, I'd hate to see anything bad happen.
