I am being sued by Capital One. I owe the money, but I don't want to pay. Can somebody tell me the best way to avoid having to pay them back? Isn't it their responsibility to more careful about whom they extend credit to? That's the way I see it.

You see it wrong. If you owe the money you have a legal and moral obligation to pay it back. No one on this site will support not paying back a legitimate debt.

Pay what you can afford but pay it back or it will cost you a lot more. Your lifestyle may have gotten you there to begin with. Maybe that is an area that you should re examine in your life.

So now the creditors are trying to pose as debtors and say stupid, completely transparent crap. I think these collectors should have gone into acting...some dank little theater off a back alley would be right up their alley.
