Hi everyone. I've been an unregistered lurker for awhile while I figured out what was going on. Reading all the posts gave me the guts to contact my creditors and attempt settlements. But now my ignorance has me running scared.

I have 8 loans at current:
CashStore (storefront)
QuickCash (storefront)
Magnum Cash
Alberta Cash Shop
AmeriCashAdvance
A A A Community Finance (online, but in Illinois)
MyCashNow
Bank of Delaware (online, but installment)

I have sent ACH revocations to each of the online stores, and closed my account. I have already received settlement offers from Magnum & Alberta Cash shop (Magnum at the state limit of $15.50 per $100 & Alberta for just the principal payoff of $200). AmeriCash advance has deactivated my online account access and I'm expecting an email shortly.

So here's my actual problem - I had contacted a pdl consolidation company and they called me back. When I told the woman that I was not interested at this time after all - because I was trying to settle with the company myself - she started telling me horror stories about how badly it could affect my credit.

"Well sweetie, if you think you're doing the right thing, that's okay, but this could haunt you for years". I told her that my reading had led me to believe that because the letter I had sent stipulated that no negative marks could be left on my credit report, then their acceptance of that agreement meant they agreed to my terms, but she continued telling me that I was just throwing my money away and was making a huge mistake.

So...what's correct? I used the template provided on here (modified for my state and terms) that included the stipulation that nothing could be put on my credit report, so can they still do it? If a creditor does accept my payment, and then still put something on my credit report, can I have it removed?

Was this just a consolidation fear trick to get more business or is there a step I've missed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

PS I figured i didn't need all the payment details in here for this post, but if that would help I can post them.

CashStore (storefront) - $650.00/705.25

Magnum Cash - $500.00/$0.00 New Loan
