I've been getting calls from 1-888-678-2999 as well for about the last month. I haven't applied for anything either. They went as far as to call me at work yesterday...and they left a voice mail!

They just called me 4 times in a row, back to back! Left 2 messages saying I applied for a loan & to call them back so we can finish up the details. I never applied for a loan & I dunno how they got my number.

So they're telling you that you owe on a debt? Do not admit over the phone to owing anything to anybody; tell them they have to send you something in writing regarding what they say you owe. (I believe it's Federal law that they have to send you something within 5 days of contacting you by phone; if I'm wrong, someone here please correct me?). It's possible they're not even a legit collection agency but were given your personal information from the PDL company.
