I have been very busy at home with my wife having elective surgery and my laptop going to the electronic version of heaven.  Just dropped $2500 on a sweet laptop and I am slowly learning windows vista.

JCEMT it goes this way with Vista. It wasnt made for people like me. My problems are as follows:

1. Cant get all the programs I was running with XP to run on Vista.

2. Games wont download even though they say they are vista ready.

3. I cant get half my updates from windows for vista and the damn fire wall keeps fighting it.

4. I am running Norton 2007 and get all my updates. Reason I was givin is that Norton 2007 doesnt have all the vista requirements.

I am about half tempted to go back to Windows XP. At least there I knew what I was doing.

I have 2G ram and it states that I need more and I have a high definition graphics card and when I run the trouble shooter it states that my graphics card cant support.

What does all of this mean? VISTA has become my worst nightmare!!!

Hey cajun!! Glad to see you. I got a laptop for Christmas and it has Vista and I am not quite sure what to think about it. Just got it connected to my internet. Wanting to get a wireless connection,, but that will have to wait for a bit. My other computer had XP. I have been working on getting everything transferred to it. What a mess.

Do hope your wife is feeling better soon. Take good care of here!! Actually I know you will. Look forward to seeing you a little more.

I just let my husband deal with all of the computer stuff. He's on it more than me, anyway. He plays WOW, so it's definitely a gamers computer. I guess I'm a WOW widow. Like a golf widow, but instead, I lose him daily to a video game. It is a cool game, though. I like to sit by him and watch him play, sometimes.

Swedishgirl, if you have a problem with him playing the game (if you feel he is neglecting you or just doesn't spend enough time with you) you need to talk to him about it. If you let it just build up and keep bothering you then you will eventually become sour over it. Trust me, I speak from first hand experience.

It's not a big deal. I kind of like it. He gets his personal time, and I get mine. It's a way for him to blow off steam when he gets home from work, and gives me a chance to get caught up on my tv shows. By the way...does anyone here know when Heroes comes back on?
