I went into the store prior to my loan coming due. The manager was not in so I left my name and number, no response. I called the store and the manager was with a customer. I again left my name and number, no response. I sent a letter, no response. The next contact I had was with their collection department from a lady who was so nasty! She has since been calling my friends leaving ,messages asking them to go into the store and pay for the loan. I have sent a cease and desist letter and have been making payments with money orders and they are still calling! HELP ME SOMEONE PLEASE!

Doesn't matter, payday loan vendors borrow the money through other banks using the check as collateral, which actually places them into the same boat as third party collections. They have violated fdcpa and a complaint should be filed with the AG for the original poster's state as well as the FTC. Totallyd14me, what state do you reside in anyway?

Payday loan companies backed by banks were stopped by the FED a few years ago. It used to be normal practice, and may be what JCEMT is referring to.

They are now no more backed by a bank then any other business that has a loan from a bank. They are considered the original creditor. Your contract is with them, they loaned you the money.

totally did you keep copies of your letters to them and or documentation of the dates and times you tried? I dont think it would hurt at all to report them to all of the agencies, BBB, state AG. If they are not a collection agency them maybe you can deal with the corporate office of the PDL.Some of the people here have said they had better luck with the corporate offices.

I had a loan with this company and had many problems with their outside collection agency. I ended up filing compliants with the Ohio AG and the FTC. Should of sued the CA for FDCA violiations but I just paid them off after the CA transfed me back to the store. I was happy just to get this company paid off and out of my life for good.

Thats why I was wonder if it was inhouse or collection agency. I think the collection agency name is PRA Professionals (hahaha).

If it is Cashland Financial Services that is calling you then it is Cashland's in-house collections. I've dealt with them and they let me make three equal payments to pay off my debt. This company is quick to take you to court and get a judgment against you. I have an address for them.

Cashland Financial Services
17 Triangle Park Dr
Cincinnati, OH 45246

Sorry, I can't find the phone number, but if you call the storefront, they should be able to give it to you.

Ryan,

I've dealt with Professional Recovery Associates(PRA) also, but they were collecting on a my defaulted loan at Checkland. This CA is something else. I filed bankruptcy and included them and they were notified of my case being filed. They laid low for awhile, then all of a sudden, I get a collection notice from an attorney in Columbus, trying to collect on it. I didn't even bother contacting them. I just gave that letter to my bk attorney and he handled it.

Cashland is not the company any of you think it is. this company is not an ohio company but a company owned by some guy in the state of texas that started as a pawn shop. this company takes as many short cuts to avoid going to court that they stink of coruption. how many of you have had them get a summary judgement agaist you without even stepping one foot in a court room?

Yeah, I am getting calls from a Texas number from them and it is their collections department. They also go by Buckeye something. They are very very nasty to you. They have actually called me names, harassed me at work, threatened liens on my property and everything.

I am going in and making small payments that I can afford and they still get nasty saying it is not enough. I am in Ohio too and they charge daily interest here now any everything. I wish i had money just to get rid of them.

I'm amused that all of you don't understand that these loans are "PAYDAY ADVANCE LOANS". They are given out with the expectations of getting the money back on your next payday. Why do you borrow from them and not think you have to pay this money back. Then you get mad when they try to get it back from you...Go Figure. If someone borrowed money from you and told you they would give it back in 2 weeks, then you would be doing the same thing........CALLING, TRYING TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK...............Just pay the money back and they will stop calling.

we are just over 35 days late and they have done nothing but harass us. We tried asking for a payment plan and they said no way. Starting offering to pay a little every payday and the lady said it was a slap in the face. We know we owe them, but i lost my job and we are struggling. This will get paid off and I learnt my lesson.
