Has anyone used Allied debt solutions and can tell me about them? They said they would be able to settle my debt and have me paid off in about 4 years. For the amount I am in debt, about $30,000, that seemed good to me. I searched for them online and can’t find anything about them except for a web site that is under construction. They might be part of Federated Financial Counseling Services since that was who I was expecting to hear from. I couldn't find anything from the BBB on them either but maybe I did something wrong. The person I spoke with was Christine and the phone number for the company is (800)523-0476 if that helps.

I just want to make the right decision, for once, on selecting a company that will do what they say they will do. I feel so stressed out I'm not sure what to do anymore and don't want to dig myself into an even deeper hole than I am already in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kevin
I've talked with a rep from Allied Debt Solutions several times over the past couple of weeks. I've been really skeptical of every company I've talked to or researched, but I did like how direct the guy at Allied was at answering questions and giving me info about the industry and debt settlement process. At this point, I'm pretty close to saying yes and jumping into this. I've just been doing everything I can to make sure this is the right decision for me and my wife. I should be able to complete the debt settlement program in about a year to 18 months as I've got about half the amount of unsecured debt you mentioned. If I end up going for it, I'll be more than happy to share my experience with you. Also, let me know if you learn more about these guys...specifically warnings! I wish you luck!

I haven????????t been able to find out anything about them. The person I spoke with seems to be in a hurry to get started. My first conversation with her went ok but I was just about to leave for work so I didn????????t have much time. My next talk with her she told me she needed accurate info on my debts and who they are with and I had to tell her that I really didn????????t know. This may seem strange but for reasons I wont go into now (keep it short) I got so behind and was being contacted by so many collection agencies that I no longer know what is owed and what bill they are collecting on, much less a accurate balance with all the fee's and such that get added along the way. She told me to get my credit report and call the collection agencies and request this info. I didn????????t really want to do this but I want to get these people paid and said I would in the next few days. The next day she calls and wants me to set up an account and set a date to start making payments so she can get working with my creditors. I reminded her that I still need to get the info she requested just yesterday and she gets short with me and says your credit report should be correct and I should really know this information. I know I should know but I don????????t, but I will try and get it for her. So anyway now she says forget calling the credit agencies and give her an account that can be set up for automatic withdrawals and she will email me something giving her permission to withdrawal and get moving on settling.

Something just seems wrong in my dealings with them so far. I expected them to look into my financial problems and see what they could do for me on an individual basis and see where I could improve. This wasn????????t address at all, no budgeting or savings plan or how to prepare for what will happen next. I also expected a plan where they would advise me who should be paid first and a schedule for when this should happen. Maybe I????????m just too skeptical. They were referred to me from the free counseling on this web site so I guess they should be legitimate and checked out by those who administer this site.

To be honest I don????????t know what to do anymore, and reading other peoples horror stories with some other companies isn????????t helping me either.

I got all signed up on Friday with Allied. I'll be happy to let you guys know if they're good or if I'm making a huge mistake! I just figure that debt settlement is kind of a last resort to Bankruptcy. If this all goes south for me then I guess I do the ultimate and declare Bankruptcy. FYI, my research has concluded that Allied is a company associated with Federated Financial, and they have an A rating with the BBB. Now I don't put a lot of trust in the BBB personally, but something is better than nothing. They've also been in business since 1998 or something like that (don't remember exactly), so that's got to mean something. Anyway, I'll report my experience with them as I go along.

I am also getting sqaured away with Allied. I haven't been able to access their site, and their 800 number isn't working or incorrect. They have already taken the first withdrawel from my account.

I tried the 800 number once and it didn't work...I just use the one they've been calling me from and have had no problems. The number is 954-571-8103. Hope that helps. My first payment will be coming out today I think! :? Hope all goes well!

I signed up with Allied a couple days ago, and so far everything is ok. I "signed" the stuff that she emailed to me, and I made my first payment. Everything did seem a little rushed and a little pushy, but most of those kinds of places are like that. I am pleased so far, haven't had it long though. I'll report back after a longer period of time.

I had another conversation with someone at Allied, and feel very good about things. There's always that little bit of worry/doubt in the back of your mind with things like this, but I'd like to believe that there are good, honest people who sincerely want to help. Let me add that one of the reasons I decided to move forward with Allied debt solutions is the fact that after your first payment, you only pay a monthly fee compared to other companies I've looked at that want to take the first 6 payments to cover their fees. With Allied, if they can't settle my debts, I will only lose out on my fees, and will now have an account full of money to go it my own if need be. Now, this is just my experience to date. I hope this proves to continue as I see it now. I'll keep updating.

:P UPDATE!
First, for the record, the branch of Allied debt solutions that runs the debt settlement is called Debt Liquidation Services...in case anyone is confused there! I'll refer to them as DLS.

So far, things are going good for me. With the help of my case worker (or whatever they call themselves) I was actually able to settle one of my accounts recently (owed about $3000) for $1600. This particular company was unwilling to work with anyone but me, so DLS didn't charge me anything for that one! I now only have three credit cards to go, and it will go as quick as I can come up with the money to settle them. So up to this point, I've been very happy with them. I'd say that as long as you don't drag it out too long and/or you have a lot more debt than I do/did, the fees aren't to bad. I'll definitely have saved money this way.

I will continue the battle and hopefully be done with all my credit cards about this time next year at the latest! Then I'll be paying off the cars! In my opinion, Allied Debt Solutions & DLS is safe...I have no complaints so far!

I had signed up for Allied debt solutions and have not been happier. It has been over 5 months and I can see a difference in my credit cards going down signficantly. I was about $30,000.00 in debt and whenever making more than the minimum payment the balance did not really make a dent. I am happy to say that if a payment is 150.00 a month on a specfic account, the balance drops by about 125.00. I am very happy with the outcome. Luke Gibbs is the person who helped me and he was very professional and understanding of my needs. I would highly recommend using this service.

:D I am very happy about how this is all working out! I started with 4 credit cards in the program...the first one actually came to me with a settlement offer. The second one did the same (4 payments from Aug-Nov) and when the money in my account is built back up, my case worker already has stuff lined up for the third card! As things sit right now, I should have the third card settled by around the first of January. I will probably then end the settlement program and just use my anticipated tax refund to pay the 4th card off! Then it should be all downhill from there...smooth sailing! I realize that things don't work this smooth for everyone, but I'm personally very happy to have found this program!

Be sure at some point to make more than the minimum payments. My cousin went with them and a little over 1 year in their program he was sued by 2 creditors and the other 2 it was placed with law firms. His only option was to file bankruptcy. Begin a debt settlement customer at Superior teresa would not go beyond 3 years. The risk becomes greater when it goes longer than 3 years into 4 years. Just be care and do your research.

Not an issue for me. I might barely go over a year...from start to finish...in this program. But I also started out with less CC debt than a lot of people seem to have here...about $15,000. My total debt is much higher than that, but settlement isn't an option for 'all' debt. This will simply have given me a HUGE jump start into eliminating my debt. Unless I run into any major obstacles, I plan on owing nothing to know one in about 2 years or less. Then I'll start working on the next step: buying a house.

That's just how it's going to work out for me.

wow..."nothing to know one"! Maybe I can learn how to spell better in 2 years! LOL

Yeah, I think the real key to any debt elimination program is that you not only learn from your mistakes but that you don't repeat them. I'm also planning to follow some of the Dave Ramsey advice and get going on an emergency fund around the first of the year. If we could all have an emergency fund in place, think of all the debt that could be avoided in the first place!

:cool:I recently signed up for the program but the only thing that upset me was the fact that it cost me $279.00 just to start up the program, meaning that none of it went to the creditors. I called back and requested a refund directly to my account. First of all that's too much to spend to just get started. I realized that it's not for me since I can just deal with my creditors my own. Oh and the new name is Federated Financial Counseling and the number is 800-523-0476
