First of all, they can't just throw you in jail! Secoond, they may have broken major violations by giving your boyfriend info. Have him make notes of what was said, dates, etc., in case you need this.
Is this for a pay day loan that you made by electronic transfer, or credit card?
If I am not mistaken, after they contact you, they have like, 5 days to send you something in the mail concerning this debt. When they do, send them a debt validation letter--I am assuming this is not the original creditor.
Probably if you google them, you will find they don't exist--but keep notes of all phone calls, record if legal in your state..Good Luck..karen
I deleted your duplicate post for you

Thanks for the info, it is for a pdl that I had set up to deduct from my checking account. I have a feeling it is for HuskHawk Marketing because I have set up payment arrangements with the other pdl's that I owe on. I have been trying to contact HuskHawk directly but the number I have is disconnected. This is just a big financial mess that I have gotten myself in to, I have thought about contacting an attorney to help me through this. My checking account has a security hold on it so all of the payments are being returned by my bank. Can they debit another account that I have without my permission? How have people resolved things with these collection agencies if they dont even give a phone number? Thanks for deleting my duplicate post for me!
Also, they have never attempted to contact me by mail or email.
Also, they have never attempted to contact me by mail or email. What is a debt validation Letter? I did try to Google them, nothing came up except for this forum. Someone mentioned that they are from i-collect. Has anyone else had trouble with these people? Thank you so much for your reply, I am a nervous wreck!

It's understandable that you would be nervous after receiving a call like that! Bossy is right...they don't exist. They are most definitely a collection agency for one of your pdls...and they are trying to threaten you into paying them. They will say things like you are going to jail...they are going to come and get you...they are going to have you fired from your job & many other things. They aren't true and they can't do it.
There is A LOT of information on this site about pdl collections. They can get pretty nasty. You're best defense is to know what you are up against...and reading these posts will give you some great information from people who have dealt with the same issues.
It's important for you to know how much you have already paid back in fees and also the laws of your state. You may just find you've already paid them back and then some! They'll always go for more because they are playing on the fact that you're scared and most likely don't know what to do when someone throws words like "investigation" and "fraud" out there.
Take a deep breath and you're going to be just fine!

Well I just came from the bank, and while I was there a call came in for me from our security department. Apparently this guy that called my fiance this morning attempted to call me there. He told them he was my cousin and needed to get in touch with me asap. So, they connected him to HR and HR contacted security. His name is Wil Buxton, she said that he is out of Texas and that he is in no way affiliated with any PDL company(she Googled him). She said he is a scam artist and they have filed a police report. I feel so much better now! If anyone is contacted by this person DO NOT send him any money. There is no such company as United Investigation Bureau. Thank you so much for your support and responses!

I'm so glad I found this website, because I am going through the same thing myself. These people are calling at my job threathing that I am under investigation for fraud and that if I don't respond to their calls, I will be thrown in jail and they will contact my job, which they did. I had to change my cell phone number and talk to my boss about these calls, which was very embarrasing.
The person calling me is Tina Walker from BCI "Bureau of Criminal Investigation" in California. I did have pdl's but I paid each one of them off. And one of them tried to debit my account without consent saying that I owed them 300.00 I put a fraud alert on my account and they cannot debit it anymore. I don't know how to make the calls go away from work. This could cause more trouble for me.
Has anyone made any progress on these calls? I google BCI and I get nothing either.
Thanks for all the great information I've gotten so far.

I just experienced the same thing myself. I got a call from my Mom saying someone had called her looking for me. She said he was very rude and threatening, told her I was under invetigation for fraud. Not too much longer later, I got a call at work. He threatened the cops would drag me to jail and I wouldl lose my job. I am pretty angry about his threats, this has to be iilegal. How do you report this and watch out for yourself? When I called the number he left, I got a busy tone.
I have one pdl out but it's almostp aid off. I dont understand how people get away with this.
This BCI company has called my work a total of 8 -10 times today
This BCI company has called my work a total of 8 -10 times today. I do have pay day loans but am faithfully paying them back. #1 you have no choice cos you set up your bank account info at the beginning of the pay day loan and it comes out each pay day. What to do about these calls?
