Contacting Experian

I have a negative item on my Experian report that looks to have been re-aged by a year or so. Seven years from date of first delinguency would have been four months ago, so it should be gone, right? I've never made a payment on it, ever. Heck, I didn't even know it was on there until last month. I disputed it with them in December, and it came back as 'verified and updated'. I just disputed it again, for all the good that's likely to do.

At this point, I've just about had it. I've spent most of the afternoon trying to contact Experian and talk to an actual person, to no avail. I've tried every likely-looking number on their website. All that's gotten me is lost in an endless tangle of voice-prompt menus. Does anybody have a phone number for them that will allow me to speak to an actual, live human? I want to know how they 'verified' this turkey, and why it's scheduled to remain on my report until 09/2008, which would be eight years.
Can anybody help me here?

Oh Thank-you Lonegunman!!! I filed two disputes about a collection agency reporting on a bankruptcy account.
Like Unclewolf...all I get is the same reply...updated. It was updated alright! Instead of removing it...they updated the date of collections to January '08! This account was in my bankrupcy in '05!
Experian obviously doesn't investigate much on a dispute just contacts the business and takes their word for it! I will diffenently be calling!!

Has anyone had any luck calling any of the above numbers to find out how they verified the trade line? I'm having a problem with Experian at the moment in that Certified Recovery Systems has 3 lines on my Experian report, but they have been either unwilling or unable to ever verify the items to me. Every time I dispute it, Experian comes back saying that the CA verified, but I can't get through to anyone to find out how
