New Debt Relief for Primary Res Foreclosures/Short Sales

It is looking like the government is putting programs in place to help those in the face of foreclosure, I see it on the news almost every day. Hopefully, it will kill the variable rates that have skyrocketed out of control. I have never understood this type of rate, no one wins, the home owner loses the home and the mortgage company or bank has to settle for what it can get out of the property and then hope to collect the remainder of the debt off the foreclose.

You would think it would be more beneficial to both parties to come to a reasonable agreement and help keep the home owner in the home. It just makes sense to me.
