Hello everyone, I need some help. The food I have to feed my pug boy is super expensive, and I've had coupons for the past 6 months to use to help with the cost. But now I'm out of coupons. It would cost me about $100 a month to feed him without coupons. He has food allergies, and can't just eat anything.

So, if anyone could be kind enough to help me, you can print coupons off of their website. Thing is it will only let you print 2 coupons. I've exhausted every computer I have access to. What I need is for anyone who could help me to print off 2 coupons from the website and scan them in and email them to me. This is how you do it:

Go to homestyleselect.com

Scroll to the bottom, click on "Get Coupons"

It will ask you for a zip code - Put in 97062

It will then ask you to install a "Coupn Printer", just follow the instructions.

It will then automatically print out the first coupon. Just go back to the homepage and go through the steps again (minus the install) and it will let you print one more.

Scan the coupons in (at a good resolution) and email them to:

coupons4goudah @ live.com

I've tested it with a friend and the scanned in coupons work. I'm not sure what sort of resolution he scanned them in with, but it needs to be clear and readable, especially the barcode part.

I'd really really be very grateful if anyone could take the time to help me with this. I've tried everything I can think of to get more coupons, I even tried Kinko's and the library, but since you have to install something I couldn't do it there.

If anyone has any questions let me know! Thank you!!!

There is a barcode on them, so they can't be duplicated. Otherwise I could just make a bunch of copies! :D

If someone doesn't have a scanner and wants to mail them to me, they can PM me and I can give them a PO Box address to mail it to. I just feel bad asking someone to spend some money to send it to me . . . .

Hey Members out there who are busy helping strangers. One of your friends needs help right now! Remember the one who helped you when you first came here? No excuses! Find another computer or a friend that has a good printer. Too busy! Then what are you doing here? Lets go! Goudah is the most giving person I know and now it is pay back time!

First, let me say this..Goudah, I'm having trouble getting these coupons!! I'm going to come through for you, though!! :D

Roadwarrior, it doesn't cost anything for us to get these coupons. Goudah can't get as many as she needs..She's our friend and we're glad that we can do this for her. Maybe some of us HAVE donated points. How would you know? There are a lot of people on here who have financial problems of their own, and all they can offer right now is a shoulder and words of encouragement. Maybe others on this site can't afford the things that they need either. How can we judge? There are a lot of ways to help, and judging each other is not one of them.

of course.) Noone stepped up to help out!

With no disrespect to goudah. When a members pet needs help all sorts of help it thrown their way!

"I know I know-THEY NEEDED THE MONEY!!!"

Here's my take on the matter:

There's a difference between printing a coupon, scanning and and emailing it to somebody versus giving away real money.

To me, the difference lies in the potential for dishonesty. Not to say anyone who posts that they can't feed their family is lying, but on a website like this, how do we know for real? Anyone can post anything here, and there's a lot of room for devious schemes which may not really be true; yet if we all bought into every story here, then we'd all be 'had'. I know of at least one member here who concocted a story just to get donations from other members.

While I feel bad for members who may really be going through tough times; the truth is, people should not be coming to this site to seek monetary help from others, nor should they expect it. We will definitely lend an ear and provide emotional support, but this site is not here to act as a charity clearinghouse.

Maybe that makes me seem ruthless? Personally I've been 'had' more times than I'd like to count; where I thought I was helping a needy person and it turns out I was the victim instead. "The few bad apples spoil the whole barrel" -- and I'm sorry to say that the con-artists spoiled it for the ones who are really telling the truth. To that end, I won't give out money anymore based on hearsay. I'd rather donate to my local charities; that way I know the money is going to good use and will be used for its intended purpose.

In Goudah's case, there's really no question about any hidden motives or what she "might really do with" those coupons. I suppose it's possible that she doesn't really have any dogs, and maybe she buys dog food at a discount just to resell it for a profit. But even if she is lying, nobody's out any money here- just some paper and ink.

But I do consider the points just as I would cash in my pocket - Doesn't matter whether they were "hard-earned" or not. Now, sometimes I spend an hour writing a post -- so I will like to think that those points are hard-earned, because I spend a lot of time earning them. Not to say that's why I'm here, because I really do not care about the points. But they are a nice reward/incentive for members to be here, and I would not want to take my hard-earned points and give them away so freely when I'm not certain as to the integrity of a person's situation.

Maybe I have a sour taste in my mouth: Last Christmas, after I had been here about two months, a woman had posted that she had cancer and couldn't buy presents for her two kids. Feeling rather generous, I donated every single point that I had accumulated (over 4000). The woman had posted a big "thank you" to everyone, but never came back afterward. I can't help but think that was a rouse, or else she might have stuck around a while to be a part of this community.

Now I'm here a year later, with 13293 points, and I have never once cashed in. Don't know if I ever will? But if I want to be charitable, I think that I will cash them in and donate to my church, but I probably won't ever just give my points away anymore.

In all fairness, I didn't print a coupon for Goudah either. (EDIT: I did print and scan a coupon for Goudah last night). I just post this because I think it's comparing apples to oranges.

DEBTCRUNCHER, Did it ever occur to you that this person had terminal cancer and maybe she passed away in March???

Guest forgive me for being flippant; because the thought had occurred to me, though I don't find it plausible based on my recollection of the incident, I will refrain from making a witty remark as I'd like to. Though I think you are being facetious.

Also when I mentioned in my first response that "I know of at least one member who concocted a story" -- I was not referring to this lady in saying that. I was referring to another person who admitted to making up a story. I really don't know if the woman with cancer was true or false; I just say it struck me as odd that she never came back to the site afterwards.

Roadwarrior - I sense a bit of demur when you say "In the next thread people were picking up their hard 'earned' money." ... Is that to say we should feel bad for being rewarded?

And this isn't pick-on-Roadwarrior-day on my end. I'm just curious why you make a point to throw the reward payouts into this whole mix?

Excellent points Debtcruncher. I don't know anything about a member making up a story..I don't remember that one. I have helped people out many a time on this board. It's my business and my choice when and if I do so. I do cash out my points for myself..Why? because I am a runner, and my races are expensive. This is my treat to myself. Could I still do it without the money from this site? Of course! The points here don't even begin to pay for my race expenses. But it helps. But...Once again..That's my personal business. And trust me..A lot of the possibilities that Debtcruncher has pointed out have gone through my own mind. Not that it's anyone's business, but I don't even have $5.00 in debtcc points. Why? Because I cashed out not too long ago, and I *gasp* also donated some money to someone in need.
This whole thing is ridiculous. I think it comes down to a case of mind your own fu**ing business. No offense.

I,too, have donated points in the past to others--but am very careful of doing it. Soon after I came to the Forums, someone was needing help-don't remember what the situation was. I donated alot of points, and never saw the person again, may have been legit, but who knows--now I need the money myself most of the time!

It shows I have alot of money-wrong- I have cashed in so many times I lost count. The reason I haven't donated points is because I need the money myself. Going to the hospital 4 or 5 times a day in another town gets expensive-also prescription meds do too. Don't know why I am telling you my business, except that we don't know everyones story or their reasons for doing what they do. When I post-- I am not asking, nor do I want anyone to donate their hard earned points--I want support and caring from the members, which I get.

As soon as I find someone who has a printer and scanner that work, I will do some coupons-doesn't take any money and very little time..karen

I agree Karen. you do not have to qualify why or why you do not donate points. It is your business, and no one has the right to judge. You as many of us do, have need for our points. I am also sure that your main reason for posting here is to help others NOT to get points. The support we get is worth more than the points. I too have donated in the past, but right now I need my points for my own poersonal reasons. I want to thank each and every person on these boards who has given time, and support.
