I have a situation where I need a lot of cash by this Tuesday at the latest. If I let it go to Friday when I get paid I will be in a bad situation. I needed a pay day loan. I can hear you all crying! "Nooooooo Frog. Don't do it! Not you! You have come along way! Listen to what you tell everyone else."
I was really nervous about this all night. It kept me awake. I crawled out of bed this morning and convinced myself I have no choice. I am going to do it.
I got to work and sat down at my computer with my palms sweating and my hands trembling. I opened my email and there was an email forwarded from my boss, the company principal.
"He is in his office, go now!" my inner voice said.
"No wait. You might win the lottery tonight!" my procrastinating voice replied.
I decided to swallow my pride and go in there.
His door was open as alway and he was not on the phone.
"Excuse me Do you have a moment?"
"Sure." he answered.
To make a long story a lttle shorter he gave me a check for 1000.00 dated today. I gave him a check for the same amount dated the 31st.
Thats what a payday loan really should be!

Hey that's good for you, your boss must trust/respect you a lot to do that for you. Sometimes loaning money to employees can backfire ...(read on)...

When I was interviewing for my current job, my boss told me the reason why the position was open :

The lady who had my job asked my boss for a $2000 loan from the company. He got permission from the owner, gave her the money, and they were going to take $100 out of each paycheck until it was paid back. WELL, she went home that day and never came back to work again; she never answered her phone when they tried calling her.

So they put the job in the paper, and that's when I applied. She happened to call during my interview, asking my boss to mail her last paycheck? Oh, he let her have it over the phone and told her she must be kidding if she expected a paycheck.

Can you believe she puts our company down as a reference when she applies for jobs? I've had about 3 or 4 companies that she applied at calling me to see how good of an employee she was.

Needless to say: Frog, don't close that checking account :)
