Yes, I took out a PDL for a measly 200 from a company called AIP. unfortunately I wasn't able to pay back on my next payday but they got their 89 bucks out of my account. so it's been a more weeks since then, and thus far they have gotten 3 $89 "extention" payments. I called and told them that that is enough, and that they should have gotten their $ plus whatever fee, and not to take any more money out of my acct. They left me a message saying that that's not how it works I will have to pay in full, and until then they will continue to debit. ok how do I figure out the interest that will come out to be, so I can consider them loan sharking. So you mean to tell me that if I can never pay for the rest of my life (exaturation) they can just take their $89 and end up with thousands w/o it eventually being againt the law? What to do?

Welcome to the site Swurvy. What state do you live in? AIP is an internet PDL?

That's the problem with PDL's, you never get caught up. They may very well be illegal in your state but from what I've seen that won't stop them, the state may get involved if you complain to the Attorney General, some states have sent them Cease & Desist letters.

Anyway, The only guaranteed way to stop them is to close your checking account, be sure to read the special topic, in the Pay Day Loan section "Read before closing your bank account". I would not call them again until your account is closed, the PDL's have hit accounts for the full loan amount when they thought they were not going to be paid which caused people to get a bunch of NSF charges on top the the money missing from the PDL.

Post your state of residence before closing anything.

They aren't part of Route 66 or GFSIL. They are a seperate company . . . . I actually have found that they are one of the easiest companies to deal with.

To be totally factually correct, AIP is a payment processing company for an overseas operation. But it handles 100% of all the loan services. You never deal with the other company.

They are actually licensed in Deleware. They also really care about their BBB record.
