I was reading up on negotiating settlement with credit card companies; I have "Fair" credit (no dings, but cards maxed out), can I call and negotiate a cash settlement with them without letting my credit fall apart first?
Also, can I get a co-signed consolidation loan to pay these negotiated balances?

Have you tried the free consultation (button on the left)? I don't think it would be a wise thing to do if you credit isn't already trashed, the negotiated balances are going to be marked "settled for less than the full amount" as far as I know, this will harm your credit.

How much credit card debt are we talking about? Anyway to get a much lower interest rate bank loan to pay them off? If you own a house I would not take out a second mortgage, refinance ETC, never pay unsecured debt with secured loans.
