I'm grumpy. I'm tired, and my back hurts. The thermostat in my car broke, and I have no heat in it. My husband is going to put a new one in today, but not till he gets home, so I have to drive without heat. I have my first race of the season next weekend, and it's supposed to be 10 degrees that day, with snow. I can't find my little boy's rocket football sweatshirt, and he is really upset about it. The dog is in heat. My husband got wood chips all over the floor bringing in wood last night, and guess who gets to clean it?

So I just needed to b!tch a little. Plus, we haven't had any good food threads lately, so I was hoping I could turn this into one. When I am crabby and feeling sorry for myself, I crave. And I crave bad. Maybe talking about it will help me.

I want the biggest, nastiest, messiest burrito I can find. With tons of low grade meat, no beans, lettuce, onions, jalapenos, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream, black olives, and guacamole.

Yea, the dinner thread went into retirement :(

When I am having those days (seems like more often lately), I go get a loaf of fresh french bread, real butter..then sit down with some chardonnay and go to town!

My daughter and hubby left at 8am to go to her mock trial competition and dishes have been sitting in the sink for days.. SOOOOOOO...guess who is going to do them? I am sick of seeing them.

OMG, Vol..That looks so damn good.
You know what else would be good? Garlic breadsticks dipped in Alfredo sauce..

Here's what I'm making for dinner:
I am roasting a bottom round...I had it marinating all night to make it tender. When it's still nice and rare, I will slice it VERY thin. Then, tonight we'll have it on french rolls, with muenster cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato and onion. On the side I will make chili cheese fries with sour cream and green onions. What will be better than that?

Karen, for sandwiches, I use either Italian dressing or STUBBS marinade. It's really great, it turns a cheap cut of meat into someting really tender. I love it, because I can take a $6.00 roast and make it absolutely scrumptious. I do this to make burrito meat, too, for that I use taco seasoning, taco sauce, and green chilis and do it in the corck pot.

Fins & volley I know exactly what you both mean about the cleaning up after everyone. I think I'm going to change my avatar to a maid...cuz everyone in my house thinks I am. After reading about all the food I'm ready to eat!!!! I'm starving!! I'm at work..only about an hour left, then I think I'm gonna have to head to the grocery store & pick up a roast!!!

YUM!!! I just took my sandwich meat for tonight out of the roaster and carved it up! Of course I had to try it, it was delish!!!

I love homemade tortillas, my Grandma was from Ecuador, and my Dad used to make them. Now I do sometimes. I like to sop the grease up with them.

Vol, I did a red wine roast on Christmas eve. I wrapped it with bacon and put it in the croc and dumped a bottle on it. OMG, it was the best roast I've evr done. I did mashed potatoes in my kitchenaide mixer, and made the gravy out of the croc pot juices.

It's probably the easiest receipe you'll ever find. Take a chuck roast & put in a big roaster...seer it(broil at 500 degrees) until there is some good & brown drippings on the bottom. Then sprinkle some garlic powder, pepper & cumin on top of the roast. Then put water in the roaster to the top of the meat. cut up 1/2 of a red onion & throw into the water. To boost the flavor I use about 12-15 beef boullion cubes to the water as well. Then bake on 350 degrees for about 3 hours. After the roast has been in the over for 2 hours, add potatoes cut in quarters & baby carrots. It's my mom's receipe & on cold days i crave it like crazy!!!

ooops, messed up!
Glad to see its not all business in here, I was feeling a bit sorry for myself too. Although, I have to say I have a wonderful husband who would clean up the woodchips after me and take me out for that messy burrito.
I guess its not as bad as I feel like it is! Hee hee!

OMG..Is that your baby? Are you pregnant?? :D

My husband and I got into a rip roaring argument today. He called me at work..How trashy is that, I'm sitting in my office screaming into the phone while someone waited outside for me. Right now he is an a$$. A big one. He has some serious making up to do, he hung up on me at noon, and I haven't spoken to him since. He should be home about 8:30. I will be in bed, the house completely dark.

He's still an a$$hole. He came home with a peppermint mocha from Starbucks for me. He made a little small talk (no apology) and then went to play Wii with Andrew. I am PISSED! We got billed twice for internet, and he accused me of not paying last month, that's what we fought about in the first place. I said of course I paid, I have the damn thing withdrawn every month on the same day, they made a mistake, call them. Somehow it was my fault they made a mistake, so he wanted me to call them. I'm at work, Thursdays are very busy for me, I don't have time for this $h!t. We argued, he said it wasn't acceptable for me not to call, I said you're fu***ng unacceptable...Verbatim.That's when he hung up. The worst thing was..I was in a meeting when he called me, I had to call him back. Here is exactly what he said on my voicemail: "Hello Michelle. I need you to call me when you get a minute, it's important that we have a conversation." What an A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guys, I'm really pissed about this.

Roxy & Fins I don't blame you one bit for being pissed. Sounds like a message & a conversation that my ex & I would have...guess that explains the ex part! I hate it when they pull that crap. and roxy you're right...if they did more around the house they'd know where stuff was located. Hell, if they actually looked & maybe moved a few things around..they'd know where $hit was located! They have 2 arms & 2 legs...flippin use them!!!

short memory is saying it lightly! (sorry guys, please forgive me) I don't blame Fins for wanting an apology, but in actuallity that will probably never happen. He knows he did something wrong or he wouldn't have bought the coffee or played their song on the radio. All that stuff is fine, but do the guys really understand that nothing will be better until we hear the words i'm sorry???
