HELP!!!!!!!!Can a collection agency sell a debt that they fail to validate?
I have a hosp bill which the collection agency failed to validate the debt despite my letters. I know they are not suppose to but can they sell the debt off to another collection agency? Do collection agencies sell debts to other collection agency's? Thanks

UNFORTUNATLY THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN TWO CASES
WITH FIRST SHORE AND A.I.S. BOTH TIMES I SENT DV AND C&D LETTERS.NEXT THING I KNOW I AM DEALING WITH A DIFFERENT CA, SIGH, IT IS A LONG PROCESS,BUT STAY STRONG.THINGS WILL TURN YOUR WAY EVENTUALLY.

I thought that was illegal, I think it is called double dipping/if the orignal debt can't be paid, how does it get sold..........

it's double dipping if a CA or JDB sells the debt then continues
attempting to collect while the other CA or JDB is also attempting collection.these places sell debt all the time, but that's not double dipping if only one is collecting or attempting to collect.

I set up an account with Supportkids to help me get my child support since the original case with the state was getting me nowhere, now Richard J. Boudreau & Associates, Llc. has taken over the account and I was not notified till after the fact that the account had been bought. I'm not the one that owes the debt it's my ex but I do not want to deal with a collection agency anymore since we have come to an agreement and it seems to be working. So how do I get out of this situation? I only signed the original contract with Supportkids, I have not signed a new contract with this company and I do not want them to start hounding the father. What can I do?
