Ok, so I have been with a debt settlement company for about 9 months now. Now I am concerned that it may be better to get out and try to do it on my own. I am not asking for legal advice, but just checking to see if anyone has been in my situation and has some person to person advice for me. I have already paid 750 in fees and they charge me about 80 a month in fees as well.. Not sure what to do as I feel like I am still sinking in debt.

I too went with a debt settlement company and ended up with only one cc settled and almost 3,000 in fees. Finally, I had enough and ended up just setting up a payment plan with my other loans on my own. I was very disatisified with the company I went with. They did not do very much for me.

Just ask yourself if you can handle all the phone calls and letter writing yourself. Are you happy so far with their service. What is the refund policy.

And one last word: Sign up for the free consult on this site. They will be able to show you all your options.

Yes I have been and currently in the process of debt settlement. I have settled 30K for 10K, and now with interest have a remaining 60K on two cards. I am working on saving up funds to try and settle these two cards. So this can be done you can read info on my blog and feel free to ask any questions. I'll be happy to answer any that I can.
