I received a phone call from them claiming they are from the Federal Bureau. Regarding my payday loan. I did have a loan but I couldn't pay them. What can I do. I am terrified right now that they are the real thing. Can they be?

Its United Federal Bank. I'm in California and I owe $350. They are asking me to pay $2100.

Pls. advise.

Apparently the company is a collection agency based in Jacksonville Florida. File a complaint with the Attorney General in Ca and FL and also the FTC. If you search United Federal Bank above you will find a wealth of info about there scare tactics. None of which have ever been carried out. Just tell them they are the ones breaking the law and you know who they are and have filed complaints in both CA and Fla.

I would like to get a recording of them claiming to be Federal agents. I'd forward it to the FBI so they can extradite their butts into US court and get slammed for impersonating a federal agent. It would probably get handed over to Interpol first, who would make the arrest(s)

Federal Bureau? Federal Bureau of what? Federal Bureau of Bikini Inspectors?

If you do have their adress, send them a debt validation letter and partial cease and desist letter. Advise them you only want them to communicate with you by USPS.

I'm guessing you never got the first written notice fromt them?

I would definitely file complaints about them with the FTC and your state's Atroney General's office. These idiots are getting as bad as Il-legal Mediation Practice!
