You can send them whatever you wish. They are in the UK. You have to be rude and hang up on them until they give up. They do not care about cease and desist letters. You can't sue them as they are not in this country. They are also a primary lender so the fdcpa does not apply to them if they were in this country. There is no legal way for them to collect anything so they become desparate and try to intimidte. Just say no!!!I really get tired of explaining this about them. I am going to save this to Word so I can copy/paste from now on!
Tweety said she loves Route 66 Funding in an earlier post. The Frog never forgets. LOL

My boss called the phone company to see if we could block the number. She sent me the following email...

Upon contacting the Verizon Business Center, (800.483.5000), Kristi directed me to call the Unlawful Call Center (800.257.2969). At the Unlawful Call Center, I spoke to Diane. She confirmed that the number is an international number and nothing can be done to block those numbers. She also confirmed that from her records the caller appears to be associated with a bill collection agency and the company name may be ICS.

Diane????????s instruction was that the next time this agency calls us, (tweety) needs to get as much detailed information on the following as possible:

Once we have gathered all of this information, we need to report this to the State Attorney????????s Office, Consumer Protection Division (800.382.5516). According to Daine, while the State cannot do much about the international agency, the business they represent can get into some major legal trouble.

tweety, all my co-workers and boss just kept telling them "Oh she no longer works here". I also changed my home and cell phone numbers. I agreed I owed the money in which they were calling about, but I was going to deal with them on my terms. I sent them letters and "said if you wish to comunicate with me it can be done soley by email". I was doing the best I could to make pmt arragements, I couldn't deal with the calls anymore.

After I got the total harassment at work that day I did end up sending another cease and desist letter to them certified mail. They got it on Valentines day (LOL)! I also talked to the State Attorney Office, Consumer Protection Divison. They told me that they have had several complaints against Route66 and asked me if I had any record of the phone calls that day. I had my boss print out the phone log that day. Like I said 52 times they called in less than 30 minutes. Diane is who I spoke with and she asked if I could mail her those records I said you betcha. I also completed the paperwork she faxed over to me....I'm hoping with that and the logs of the calls will get them into some legal trouble! I'm not holding my breath but at least the state attorney generals office knows whats going on with this slime company...

Tweety, you are doing such a good job with all your "stuff' Thats it, the main thing is that they have your complaints. Lets hope that they start to deal with all of this.I know here in NY sometimes they get right on it, and at other times it seems like they sit on these things forever.

I just had a call from Route66 AGAIN.....I can not believe this company.....I did get a response from the Attorney Generals office last week about the complaints I filed...of course they cant do anything....SO, whats the point on contacting them about this gawd awful company? I am not sending them a dime more until they send me something in writing.....Should I file ANOTHER complaint with the BBB?

Aminah....good to see you....Tweety, I do the same, I do not talk to them, just let them go to voice mail. As for the BBB, it is your call. If you have already filed complaints with no resolution, I can understand why you would be hesitant to file another....but on the other hand, if it has been awhile, it might be worth it.
