All is not lost; you have come to the right place. I????????m sure lot of people will be along to help you. I think you need to find some kind of job or income. There are always things a student can do. I know someone who did medical trials for cash. Maybe you could help out a senior citizen with shopping or house work. Be creative and look at this as a learning experience.
Credit Card Debt
I have many friends who work full-time and go to school full-time. I will be doing it soon myself. It is a struggle but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. $500 is a decent amount of debt at 19 but certainly can be paid off quickly if you try. Like previously suggested, get a part-time job. Students have so many opportunities. If worse comes to worse, talk to your parents. They may not know about this and if you talk to them, they may help you out of this mess. It will not go away. You can still fix it.
Good luck to ya!

It is true all is not at lost. I have worked two jobs and went to school full time. Even obtaining a part time job would help benefit. Tutoring is a great way to pull in some extra cash. Have you tried looking on your school's employment bulletin? Most of these employers are on there are flexible with regards to scheduling your work hours.

I have $500 in debt that is way past due. 90 days or more past due. I'm only 19 years old and I've ruined my Credit already. I have no time to get a Job because I am a Full time student. I want to pay it back, but I can't. The only source of money comes from my parents, but that goes toward food and school supplies. I really need a way to pay this back. Its killing me because I know that I cannot do anything with my credit. |
$500 sounds like a lot when you're 19... It's really not so much. There are, as others have said, lots of things that can be done if you're creative and determined.
Walk dogs, shovel snow, wash windows... All these and more are things you could do to bring in money. And they pay cash, most of the time. And if you handle them correctly, you could wind up with some very valuable references. That's almost worth more than the money at your age. And then there's the old tried-and-tru expedients of cash-strapped students everywhere: flipping burgers, waiting tables, or washing dishes.
You've shown that you have initiative by coming here and seeking advice before things got well and truly out of control. Now you just need to take it to the next level. Be open to what's around you. With creativity and practice, you will start seeing oportunities instead of problems. I'm not doggin' on you here, either. Think of this as a friendly kick in the right direction.
What is your major? Is there something related to your course of study that you could do to bring in cash? When I was in school way back when, I did odd-wad computer repairs for beer money. By the time I left school, I had a thriving business from home. That brought me $$$ and good references. Now, years later, I have a successful consulting business on the side.

Whyever not? http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd107/unclewulf/smileys/blink.gif
Student loans are easy to get, maybe too easy. Have you filled out the FAFSA? That'd be step one. Forget private student loans from banks and the like. In comparison, they're not worth it unless you have no other options.
