Will Debt Management Stop A Garnishment?
Date: Fri, 02/08/2008 - 20:08
After being out of work for almost three years, I found employment. But by this time all my debts have spun out of control. At this point I have over $18,000 in credit card debt, my checking account has been frozen and my defaulted student loan of $38,000 has resulted in a garnishment started on my pay check. I have an appointment with Consumer credit counseling Service on the 22nd of this month. Will being enrolled with DM stop my garnishment? Will they even take it on?
I'm at my wit's end here. I don't even see a tunnel, just a deep dark hole. Please, some words of advice.

Depends on the company, this is something that you will want to ask them before you enroll with them, some will not take on anything that is a real challenge, and this will probably involve some extra steps.

Hang in there, things will get better, you can only pay what you can pay and at least you are making an effort. Don't beat yourself up. You need to find something good to dwell on, dwelling on these bad things will only keep the tunnel further out of reach. If you need encouragement to keep plugging along come here, you will get lots of it. Hang in there, you are not the first in this situation.
