I have been reading posts concerning paying back the PDLs. There has been discussions on what we are obligated to pay back.(just amount borrowed) I am wondering if that is just for the overseas places or does that go for all PDLs. Is there also a stipuation on if the company is allowed to operate in a particular state?
Thanks,
peggy
sorry this isn't making sense.

You should always pay your debts. Anytime it has been suggested on this board to only pay back what you borrowed is due to the fact that it was discovered the PDL is operating illegally. Those are likely to be Internet loans, although not ALL Internet PDL's are illegal (always check first), and most all Store fronts ARE legal.

I'm from Oregon too.

Oregon now has some really good laws. They specifically state that internet pdl's must be licensed in Oregon.

The state's banking dept will help you deal with the illegal companies. They are very interested in companies breaking the new laws.

Call them at:

Where to Complain, Get Information:
Regulator: Oregon Department of Consumer & Business Services
Address: Division of Finance & Corporate Securities, 350 Winter St. NE, Rm. 410 Salem OR 97301
Phone: (503) 378-4140

Regulatory Contact: Mike

Charles Donald retired about 2 years ago, so the new guy's name is Mike. I can't remember his last name right now, but give him a call and he can help you with the complaint process.
